Description

This model is a charger holder for an Oral B electric toothbrush. The cord fits into the bottom and everything snaps together. I used supports for the bottom and the top does not require supports. I printed this with my A1.

 

For those looking for a deeper bootom to make stuffing the cord easier please see my deeper bottom print profile.

 

For those with horizontal(sideways) plugs, please see my Horizontal plugs print profile! It uses the deeper bottom to make cord concealment easier!

it's a good print but i feel like my older Oral-B charger is longer and there's just no way to fit all the cord and the plug in it.

yeah absolutely! I put the plug in the bottom first and then kinda laid down the cord in a circle as much as I could but I was debating a taller version any way

I have a different use case since I can't plug the device into the wall where it is currently located. however, I could still use it to contain most of the cord as you can see in the photo. before this there was just a tangle of wire behind the two chargers. Nice build.

Hey, wondering if you can design a small box that snaps together that would replace the soap dish these are sitting on. If it had an opening at both ends, I could stash the Sonos cord in that and I'd be very happy. Riight now it's just tucked behind everything. Much appreciated.

Well done The idea is also cool, unfortunately no EU plug I also tried to adapt but it was all in vain, what a shame Adaptation 2.0 successful

Potential Issues with a Compact Plastic Box: 1. Heat Build-Up: During charging, the cable and charging station may generate heat. If the box is tightly sealed and does not allow for proper ventilation, this heat could accumulate, potentially leading to overheating. 2. Cable Strain and Damage: Rolling or compressing the cable in a small space can cause stress on the internal wiring or insulation. Over time, this can lead to damaged cables, short circuits, or reduced charging performance. 3. Fire Hazard: If overheating occurs or the cable is damaged, there is a risk of sparking or a short circuit, which could potentially ignite the box material if it is not heat-resistant. 4. Limited Cable Longevity: Frequent bending, twisting, or compression of the cable when stored in a tight space could significantly reduce its lifespan.

Love this thank you, I would change your print profile to tree supports and inner brim only. It printed fine for me and didn't have all that support nonsense going on with normal supports. Added a print profile for the X1C

This was my first household print (meaning, not an accessory for my printer haha), and was sort of the proof of concept for having a 3D printer - my wife wasn't convinced when I said I wanted to get one. Her words: "that toothbrush charger thing is pretty cool" The only issue I have, and it's probably because I used matte PLA, is the bottom rounded bit looks a tad gnarly. Any tips on how to fix that is welcome

sorry I have no idea what happened with the bottom of your print. I printed two time without any issues with cheap basic PLA .

Nah all good mate, it might be the matte PLA - I read it has poor layer adhesion

Took a little cleaning up edges and removing support stuff. Also a little tricky to get all cord in, but I did and think it will work great.

what a fun print. it’s something that I needed that I didn’t know I needed :D the cord is a pain to get in properly, a tip is to insert the ply end first and then feed the cord under the plug and the front clip piece.

I used .6 nozzle bc that's what I had installed. id suggest making the hole a bit bigger bc getting it in there is kinda tough
