Description

I made these organizer trays for the Ikea Alex drawer since most found from MakerWorld were either too small or too big for my liking. To fill fully a drawer you need to print 3 small, 2 medium and 1 big tray.

There are 2 ways that I have printed these trays. One with topmost layer in different color than the rest to give the boxes a nice border. And the second with solid colors to minimize waste!

The biggest tray can be used inside the drawer as is, or you can use a little glue to attach the halves together. I used ca glue with activator spray.

Dimensions (w x l x h):

Small: 97,7 x 97,7 x 50,4 mm

Medium: 146,5 x 212,7 x 50,4 mm

Big: 212,7 x 293 (length for printing: 146,5 mm) x 50,4 mm

This is an amazing set of dividers. It Fit perfectly in my drawer and has a variety of sizes. If you have an Alex drawer, print this.

Quick question, why one of the big boxes doesnt have a wall?

Hi, I split the big tray in two pieces for it to be able be printed on "normal" sized printers. As I wrote I glued the two parts together to get one big tray out of the parts. :)

Looks very useful to me because tbh for my purposes, most Alex solutions have compartments that are too small and fine-grained for individual items, whereas this is more general purpose. Would it be possible to do a version of these for the A1 mini? I'd really appreciate that :)

I was able to split the two bigger trays in to 2 and 4 pieces. Obviously needs more manual labour since there is 9 plates in total and if you want the trays to be more solid there is more pieces to glue together. Hopefully this is useful to you. :) You can find the profile named adequately (Profile for A1 mini).

I really like the design with adding a color to the top of the drawers to give some difference in them. Will be printing these once my printer is free.

Is this designed for the 9 drawer Alex drawer's depth or is it for another size? The 9 drawer has shallower drawers (my drawer depth front to back is about 422mm). Just don't want to have to try to estimate from your pictures and/or manually calculating based on box sizes and orientation.

Hi, this is designed for the smaller Alex drawer with 5 drawers. The drawer's dimensions are 525mm*295mm(depth*width). So this set of boxes will not fit your Alex, unfortunately. :)

No worries, that's why I asked! You might want to add that information to the top, someone will absolutely make that mistake (as I did on a separate print). It's unclear to a lot of people there are actually at least 3 different types of Alex drawers depending on the model, 2 different skinny ones, with one shorter, and one wide shallow drawer.
