Description

Hi Makers!

I sometimes have to less helping fingers and so I created this simple, but very helpful soldering tool that can hold a variety of different wires or cables properly in place while you are welding them together or cutting them to the right length. (In this case it's recommended to print 2 or more) I have already uploaded a first version you can find on my profile, this is the much cleaner, but maybe less versatile version. Feel free to choose your preferred model.

Like the other one, there are fixtures for very thin cables down to 1mm up to thicker household cables of about 4mm, you just need to press them into place in the fitting location;-) The distance between the guides has also been enlarged so you have more space and a potentially bigger work area.

On the bottom there also are implemented screw holes to tightly secure it to a table etc., you can see it in the pictures.

The default material selected in the print profile is PETG, but you can also find a suitable PLA profile in the print profile section which has been tested too. Due to the bigger space the evoked heat won't affect the structure of the model in normal scenarios, but you easily may print it in a different material.

Feel free to scale it to your individual needs, as this way it can potentially hold even thinner or thicker wires.

I hope you enjoy my work and have fun and success using it!

Best regards,

Arc3DTECture

Great creation. I've added 6*2 magnet push-fit holes, to let it stick to my "3rd hand" board. Printed PETG version

Just what I needed - had a clog, so it didn't print perfectly, but that was my issue.

Oh dear, but well, it looks fine. Tipp: When your nozzle is clogged, raise the temperatures to 240*C with PLA and then let it cool down to approx. 150*C. Then you repeat it 2 more times and unclogging becomes and easy job;-) It works, no idea why😁😂🤩☑️

I did that, and it works great! I had printed PLA-CF just before this and it left behind some filament. Instead of killing the print, I let it finish. It will work fine as it is. But got it cleared up for the next prints.

One of the reasons I put off soldering is because I don't have three or four hands. Now that I have a 3-D printer, I can print all the extra pieces.and tools i need (on the cheap) to make finishing projects a lot easier. thank you.
