Double Barrel Pistol Shotgun - Fidget

This 3D-printed weapon is a double-barreled pistol inspired by shotgun designs. It features two barrels for shotgun ammunition, two triggers, and two hammers for independent operation. The single-action triggers require manual cocking before firing, adding a mechanical, classic feel to its design.

This pistol is an anti-stress toy, a fidget designed for one-handed use. The hammers can be cocked and locked in the rear position, unlocking the triggers to release the hammer. The "shot" is purely symbolic and does not fire any projectiles. Additionally, a side button opens the barrel, allowing two shells to be loaded.

What do you need for assembly?

You will need rubber bands, preferably those used for making bracelets, and glue to attach the two halves of the body and the side panels.

Assembly instructions are available in video format:

Enjoy!

Sorry, my printers are region locked. I really want to give it a 5 star, but it's not possible at the moment.

here are two prints of the handle. this is the side with the hole on one side as you can see one failed the other almost failed, I know it has to be the file but I don’t know why or how I have been printing all day and no fails at all what could have caused this??

It looks like the support isn’t adhering properly. Try adjusting the support settings for this element. I optimized it on my side to ensure it sticks well while still being easy to remove. In your case, it seems the gap is too large. Try changing the Top Z Distance from 0.25 to 0.20 and the Top Interface Spacing from 0.7 to 0.5 The version where you marked in red might still be usable. Have you tried cutting away the damaged parts to check if the hole for the barrel lock pin moves freely? You can also clean up the barrel hinge.

no still waiting for the pins and stuff to print but thank you for replying for so fast. Yes I the one in red might still work I cleaned some of the extra lines of filament and will try the barrel pin when they are done.

Changing my initial rating as it was most likely my filament. The other items are fine. The shells came out amazing with the same filament I did the barrel with but they aren’t structural. Reprint barrel and body halves in a straight pla and then paint if needed.

What filament are you using? Is the default profile the one I provided or the one from Bambu Lab? From what you're describing, it seems like the layers might not be adhering well enough.

@Megatiks I’m using GIANTARM Silk Silver. it looks slick but I know silk can have some issues. It’s done well on other prints. I’m going to try gluing the posts back on. the little hook on the barrel may still work.

I can't find any manufacturer data for this filament, and I couldn't find anything interesting online either—not even tests on YouTube. Bambu Lab directly provides various parameters, but this company seems to hide them as if they're ashamed. It's likely the same case as with other Slick filaments, which aren't suitable for demanding prints like this due to weak inter-layer tensile strength. I suspect that's the issue in your case—the filament is too weak for this kind of print. Testing with a different filament that has better parameters is the only way to confirm this

Works awesome! The tolerance on the barrel are pretty tight though so it doesn't pop up on its own but that's not much of a problem. Thanks!

@user_3529243316 Thanks for the comment. I think you may have inserted the rear part with the sight incorrectly. Try sliding it out and repositioning it. Right now, it seems to be pressing against the barrel, which might be causing the issue with opening.

You need to provide more pictures so I can assess what might be wrong. Perhaps something is jamming in the mechanism, or it was assembled unevenly

Supports were a pain to get off, and had 1 bed adhesion issue on the shotgun shell cap. other than that, pretty fun!!! Didn’t have the small bracelet rubber bands, so I just double up some bigger ones and it works great!
