Description

This is V2 of the popular wheel well/arches I uploaded a while ago. I needed some more room on my Deadbolt chassis to put a new receiver but I also wanted a way to make the body look less “empty” from underneath, to make it look more real… So here's the solution!

WHAT'S NEW IN V2?

  • I've pushed back the front well by 4mm, making it larger so that the front wheels have more room. If you'd like to mount slightly larger tires or if you have a front axle that allows you to have a better steering radius (like the Meus axles) this is the file for you. In the picture I have mounted 56mm tires. Remember that you'll still need to trim the body slightly to make sure the tires don't catch the Deadbolt lexan body.
  • Added extra holes to the front and to the back to give you more shock mounting positions, if you'd like to tweak the setup.
  • Added a little slot at the bottom to make sure these bad boys don't interfere with the lower screw holding the stock battery mount into place, in case you're still using it (thanks dmedley520 for the heads up!)

That's it, I guess!

TIP! I have a tip for ya. If you'd like to make the body look better, ditch the stock front mounting “horns” (that keep the body in place with pins) and use magnets instead. Simply apply them at the front of the wheel well (a drop of glue will be plenty to hold them down) and underneath the body, too. I use 7x1.5mm magnets and they're perfect.

PLEASE NOTE

This was modeled on the original Deadbolt chassis/body, so it will only work with that. I cannot guarantee that it will work on other models of SCX24s, but I highly doubt that! Unfortunately I cannot make a version for the other SCX24 bodies/chassis as I do not own them and it would be impossible to get the dimensions right without having them on hand!

HOW TO MOUNT THEM?

Just use the original screws on the chassis! I have added pictures to show you exactly which screws need to be used to fix these bad boys into place. You will need two extra screws (short m1.4, one on each side) to fix the rear, as they use an empty hole on the shock/body mount.

The driver in my Deadbolt now has a copilot! BONUS BROWNIE POINTS to whoever recognizes them
