Description

The small camera that comes with the A1 Mini keeps failing on me. So I decided to get a different camera to monitor my print. But where to install it? I tested different configurations, but none held the Tapo C110 in a good position. Due to the way my printer is set up, I needed a solution that looks at the build plate and not the surrounding space.

On Printables I came across a model from Itomicek (https://www.printables.com/model/789871-tapo-c110-camera-holder-for-mini), which holds the camera in front of the printbed, but was not designed for the A1 Mini. Combining Itomicek's camera holder with kabendesign's heavily cut-down heat bed guard led to a holder for my camera that gives a new point of view and works well with the HULA feet my A1 Mini sits on. So far everything is working very well. Maybe this model will also be useful to thers. The Tapo C110 specific holder plate is in an extra stl file. If can probably be easlily modified for other cameras. Many thanks to the designers of the initial parts.

Just as a note: The holder cannot be combined with the small storage solutions that fit to the left of the screen.

Installation: The holder is held by the screw placed underneath the A1 Mini. You can use the screw that is already there. It aligns with the hole in the model. The holder plate then needs to be glued on. This gives a bit of wiggle room with regards to distance to the print-bed.

Thank you. And I hope it is ok, I used your model as the basis for the holder bracket. I just kept the part around the A1 Mini base. But since I already had your model saved in my collection, it was a good starting point and I did not have to start from scratch.

It is called Tapo C110. It is a small web/security cam. It seems, a lot of people use it for print monitoring.
