Description

This mini basket ball can be fully printed in pla and bounce very well from any (reasonable) height. I've found it works perfectly for indoor games such as passage cricket or any other creative indoor games.

This ball was inspired by the Airless Basketball that is trending at the moment. Upon seeing this epic ball I instantly wanted to print it, but I didn't have tpu or 24 hours to spare so I designed this, it is a bit bigger than a tennis ball and bounces just the same.

Add painted supports to the bottom or use my g-code provided, NOTE: Try use the strongest pla you can find, as cheap ones break quickly(I used viva la bronze prusament)

If you liked this you can also check out my Airless ping pong ball

Enjoy

That’s not a print profile thing. It depends on many filament factors such as dryness, material, how old it is, etc… Plus the airless basketballs are really tricky to get working well. Unless you are using the specialized filament it will break right away

This is an issue I’ve had a couple times too. An issue with pla basketballs is that they are just really easy to break. This model is more of a cool item to show but isn’t very functional

if you used pla petg or abs or ASA it will crack. Use tpu or flexible PLA

I printed a couple of these with polymaker pro pla and they came out great. Going to try scaling up a little bit using soluble supports.
