Description

AMS angled wall mounting

Version 3.1:

After a number of community comments, we considered creating another flatter version. The angle was changed from 35 degrees to 20 degrees and more distance to the wall was created.

This made the model too large for the printing plates. I created a coupling point to get the model onto a plate. The connection can easily be glued afterwards.

With the smaller angle, there should be no further problems when unrolling the filament. I have already replaced my holders with the 3rd version and am very satisfied.

The base plate and mounting holes have of course remained unchanged. No new holes need to be drilled!

Furthermore, a guide for the PTFE tube was inserted. Thus, the tube can now be laid cleanly.

I look forward to your opinions, reviews and further ideas… 😊

Now available as an accessory:

Honeycomb insert for the holder - to be printed as a separate print profile.

Version 2:

The first update of the bracket following a user comment. It has been extended by 10mm at the rear to create more free space towards the wall. This means that the AMS cable is no longer squeezed and any possible damage is eliminated.

Thanks for the tip 👍

Also available again the Version 1:

This time with an extension of 15mm. Thus, the holder does not have to be printed again.

Again, thanks for the hint 👌🏻

If you want to mount your AMS on the wall and still have easy access to it, try the angled bracket.

Due to the 2 bars in the model, it currently fits all 3 AMS versions. Whether 3 chambers with different dimensions or the newer design with 5 chambers.

Due to the adapted width of the holder, the original feet of the AMS stand up perfectly.

The cable and PTFE tube can be easily routed down behind the AMS.

The lid stays open on its own without having to be fixed and still has enough space to the wall to prevent damage or scratches.

If you need a longer AMS cable, you can buy it HERE or in the Bambulab Store.

Hi, first thanks for the great idea. I printed it for 3 AMS. So, the AMS are the newest version, so it will not work with them. In the moment, the AMS are standing not straight - they don´t make a job and give only error messages. Now I rotate your great idea and so they are standing straight. Now they are working. This is only a little information , that I like to tell you. My old AMS are working with the mount. only the new ones are on strike. So I will boost you, because I love this great idea. Best regards !

Hi, thanks for the feedback and the hint. It's a pity that it doesn't fit with the new design, for me they fit perfectly. is there already a newer version? can you maybe send me the spacing?

There are at least 3 different versions. You can recognize them by the number of chambers (3 or 5) or the different dimensions of the chambers.

The looks is nice but it would have been great if some space was left for the cable at the back while making the model, as you can see in the photo the cable is cramped, I think the cable may break down in the long run but all in all it is very good thank you, if you have time you can update it to leave some space for the cable at the back and I will print it again.

Nice setup! I just got the S4 dryer for Christmas, how do you like it? I have not set mine up yet. Do you dry your filament and transfer to the AMS after a certain time or do you run it directly as an external spool from the dryer to the printer while the dryer is running?

is a game changer xD i did have some basics dryer and I was little bit disappointed. There was some sale for a Christmas so I took it. i did dry for 12h petg 4 rolls and I completely forgot about them. I kept them without bag and nothing for around a year in a locker when the humidity is high. the prints just come out perfectly xD I highly recommended xD how’s your experience?

You can print the extensions. Then you don't have to reprint the extended version 2. So you get another 15mm away from the wall.

I've been using this for some time now. I almost immediately drew up and printed a 15mm spacer, same as your solution. works great and looks great. my only trouble now is that the lid doesn't like to stay open. I may draw up a kickstand or magnet attachment to hold it open. either way, great work here.

Hi, thanks for the hint and the feedback. Whereby the 15mm distance does not change the angle to the wall. This should not negatively affect the behavior of the lid. You could add a distance (e.g. tapering from 15 to 12mm or similar). Thanks for the boost 🙏

Yeah, I was considering this as well. I may just take your revised version and put a draft angle on the rear. Model is good and works well. Thanks.

Hi, I love this design and idea but... Since I placed my AMS in the rack I got a "failed to pull pull back filament error" every time I print. I tested with a full spool and almost empty one with same results (bambu spool not cardboard). Now I lifted the front to see if less angle is better because right now it's not working for me :-(

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Too bad it doesn't work for you. My idea would have been a weight for the role, but you have already ruled out this cause. I have planned another version - among others With a reduced angle ..
