Description

IMPORTANT: THIS VERSION IS FOR AMS ONLY. FOR THE AMS LITE, PLEASE REFER TO THE SPECIFIC VERSION.

The Universal RFID Spool Adapter is well-designed for using Bambu Lab RFID chips with third-party filament spools.

For your information, the RFID can help the AMS select colors and profiles automatically and track the filament leftovers.

Best of all, it’s compatible with most spools, offering a hassle-free solution for various filaments.

This model is inspired by Universal Spool v2 for Bambu AMS & SpoolCore.

Spool Adapter
Ingeniously designed, prints without issue. However, not suitable for SUNLU filament, its opening is too large. But I have other brands that fit.

Thank you for your swift assistance. Diameters of 40 and 45 mm are well-suited for SUNLU spools. However, the plate is too small; it now falls through the spool opening. The diameter should be 85 mm

most of our filament roll holes were too small to get the fins in. we did it in just plain PLA. should we have used something different?

What is your roll hole diameter?

Works Awesome, only thing I could think could be better is to make it a top/endcap for a desiccant holder like https://www.printables.com/model/436044-desiccant-spool-tumbler

Printed well and fast. Modifying the text is simple and overall looks professional. I DID need to scale up the X & Y axis’ of the spool “fan-like” adapters up to 102% as (at least is PTEG) the fitment was too tight. However, after this very minor adjustment it works flawless!

This is cool, printed it not realizing it wouldn't work for the AMS lite but no biggie.

It's ok, my fault for obviously not realizing it. I did manage to find one that works, although it's not as fancy. https://makerworld.com/models/715877 I will actually use the RFID badges you made to store my RFIDs though.

sorry for the issues but I'm trying to print the rfid housing. whenever I try to change the text (PLA -> PETG), it no longer shows up after I slice it. it goes from being a 2 color print to a 1 color print. am I doing something wrong?

it turns out that my regular supplier of filament uses spools with a really small diameter - about 53mm. I tried inserting the spool adapter in but worry that it's going to snap. do I need a smaller one?

The minimum supported diameter is 40mm, so it should work on your side 🙏

hmmm, is there any trick to inserting the fins into the hole? I'm worried they will snap. I printed it out of generic PLA, if that matters.

nevermind, I got it in! do I need to put one on each side of the spool?
