What castle is complete without some gothic lighting fixtures? This lantern has medieval styling and is meant to be used with a standard size LED flame bulb for the the most realistic effect. The voronoi pattern shade adds a touch of creepy-ness. I used a 4" dia x 6" tall glass chimney vase (open at both ends) and painted it with some glass paints to create the old-world orange color. The voronoi shade slides right over the glass cylinder. The vertical supports have little assembly pins that snap into holes in the rings and base for easy alignment. I recommend gluing this with something like epoxy. The whole thing is made to be mounted on a standard ¾" pvc pipe (outside diameter of just over 1" (26.75mm). The hole in the octagonal base is sized for an all-weather light socket from Leviton that you can get at Home Depot. This socket should be connected to standard lamp cord that will run up the pvc pipe and connect to the socket inside the code with wire nuts.
If you want to obtain the more realistic cast-iron look, I paint everything except the voronoi shade with spray primer suitable for plastic, followed by "stone look" spray paint (for texture) followed by Rustoleum "Hammered Metal" spray paint. Voronoi shade was just printed in black.
