Gingerbread Christmas Door Corner - Lots of detail in this one so can take a little time to slice

One of my favourites! Perfect for anyone who wants to add a bit of Christmas into their house!

UPDATE

The “Drops” have been changed to circles due to issue slicing. No other changes made :)

Recolored the snowflakes which eliminates quite a few color changes. Came out great!

Other Issues:Upon closer inspection, some white surfaces are not fully enclosed (see window frames) For the intended purpose on the door frame, however, this is perfectly acceptable

I'm unsure what your issue is? The window frames are supposed to be boxed off like it has been printed.

In my opinion, the marked areas should be closed for aesthetic reasons, unless this was the intended design

Yes that was the design :)

Sorry but... could you provide a simple STL file? I'm 100% convinced I can make a much better job colouring this manually and reducing filament waste (32 colour changes for this is WAY too many, it's 25% wasted filament)

To add to this, the model seems to be horribly flawed geometrically speaking. When I try to colour it manually some surfaces simply won't show as coloured. When I try to slice it it takes like 5 whole minutes every time. Such a simple shape shouldn't take this long, I have a 16 core CPU and a GPU with 12GB of VRAM, an NVME and 32GB of RAM... When I click "slice" it takes 70% of my CPU and almost 10GB of RAM for 5 minutes, how many freaking vertices is this??

Nevermind. I refuse to work with this. Faces are like weird cone-shaped geometries instead of being flat faces, so when you colour the model you don't really colour a surface, you colour a solid with n-vertices and that becomes 10 colour changes instead of 2. Terrible model, terrible default profile too, it failed to print (I haven't had a failed print in a LONG time).

The issue lies with the red “drops” on the gingerbread house They consist of millions of triangles The slicer offers the option to simplify structures This allowed me to reduce the file size to 75MB in the first attempt Still far too large Slicing now takes approximately one minute on a desktop computer I might rebuild the drops in Fusion and reupload the model as a remix

A very well-done decoration, easy to print with no issues at all. Thank you!
