Description

A remix of the Afterburner & Variable Nozzle: https://makerworld.com/en/models/477462#profileId-388528

I accidentally ordered the wrong rod ends and they required M2.5 screws. Instead of buying new rod ends (expensive), I decided to use the leftover screws and nuts from Kit 006 (free).

I changed the holes intended for M3 screws to support the M2.5 screws included in Kit 006. You should have enough to complete assembly with one kit as the model uses fewer screws.

Changes

Changes were made to the control_ring and primary_petal models.

  • The M3 hole diameter was decreased to support the M2.5 screws from Kit 006.
  • Wall thickness was decreased to 1.2mm to support the 10mm screw lengths.

The screws are just long enough to hold the nut securely.

I shuffled the parts around and added a plate to better color match my model. Feel free to move things around to suit your needs.

Required Components

  • 6x MR105 bearing
  • 12x M2.5 Tie Rod End (or 6x if you get a set of 2 rod ends and a threaded rod)
  • 270mm 1.75mm Filament
  • Leftover screws, nuts and washers from Kit 006
  • Glue

Assembly

Please see the original model for instructions. The assembly procedure is the same.

Rod ends

This is the type of rod ends I bought:

They are great as they use left and right-hand threaded rods so you can adjust the length more precisely, even after mounted.

I recommend you get the rod ends in a suitable color to match your model.

Love the color scheme! Do you have notes or such on which colors were used where?
