Printed perfectly. Half way through the print I had "one of those thoughts" and chucked a bell from a small Lindt Bunny inside. Now we have a "Jingly Death Star"

Brilliant idea (with the bell)! Nice. However, the print without support is also flattened at the bottom

I printed the model in black ABS, I did make the change to use variable layer height to make the top come out better. I then used Rub N Buff metallic wax to put an antique gold finish on just the top surface. I'm sure I still need practice with that technique but I'm declaring victory on this one. The idea with that stuff is to use VERY little and blot it lightly on the surface. If you don't make it too even it is supposed to take on an antiqued look where highlites look lighter and other areas that might not have been handled as much are darker.

Looks nice! Do you have to put on clear coat to make it stay as it is?

Nothing else should be needed, since it's a wax I doubt anything else would stick anyway. If you want to see how someone who knows what they're doing uses this stuff, here's the video that showed me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFxpr5ZAjAo&;sttick=0

spray it with a glossy black first and then use the rub and buff and you'll get an even nicer finish!

It turned out so good! We give each other ornaments each year early for Christmas and this one is for my teenage son and it turned out so well! Thank-you, great design.

Very nice! What did you do for post processing and what filament did you use? Looks like some dark washing.

Thank you! I did do a fair bit of post processing; I printed in Elegoo Black PLA, smoothed with Bondo Glazing & Spot Putty and 400 and 2000 grit sandpaper, coated with black satin spray paint, and sponged on Silver Leaf Rub n’ Buff. It was my first time using Rub n’ Buff, that stuff is so cool.
