This is a set of brackets I designed to mount and display blankets for my wife. Each bracket attaches with two screws and includes small plugs to cover the counterbored screw holes. Initially, I was concerned about strength, so I made the brackets rather hefty and printed them in ABS. This turned out to be overkill—after testing, I found them so strong that I couldn’t break them with my bare hands. As a result, I slimmed down the final version.
The rod for the rack is made from a bare 7mm carbon fiber shaft leftover from an arrow-making project. It’s smooth, lightweight, and won’t abrade or snag the quilts. The brackets have a notch that angles up and toward the back, keeping them out of view when mounted. This also makes it easy to install and remove the rod while hanging a blanket.
