Description

Celebrate Christmas and New Year with these beautiful, elegant gift tags! I wanted to offer a little twist on the usual gift tag and ornament tags you commonly see around this time of year.

Some of the major features include:

Customizable Name? ✔️

Easily Colored? ✔️

Cool as heck? ✔️

Please read below on how to sync, change colors, customize and move the names. There is an important note down below as well that you won't want to miss.

Each Gift tag features an array of objects you can easily color via the Objects tab. My easy and recommended route is to just load your colors of choice into slots 1-3 of your AMS, hit sync and watch as the gift tag colors update.

The second route is of course, manual coloring. I recommend not using the paint/fill tools, and instead using the Object browser and assigning colors there. Using the paint/fill tools will only give shallow depth coloring, whereas coloring by object allows the colors to occupy the full object Z depth as designed.

!!PLEASE NOTE!! - there is an object on every tag called “TO”, which is the TO text to the left of each name. Please do not change the font of this object or reposition it. There is a void beneath this object which it is perfectly placed to fill.

If you would like to use the same fonts I have, you can find them here (when installing, be sure to “install for all users” so Bambu Studio can use them):

Christmas Time font: https://www.dafont.com/christmas-time-2.font

Britannic Bold: https://www.freefontdownload.org/en/britannic-bold-regular.font

Now, let's figure out how to change colors, customize the name and re-position the name if needed.

How to change colors

How to customize the name

How to re-position the name

And that's it! Have question? Send me a message on the platform or drop a comment here with the help you need.

I hope you enjoy these elegant gift tags - get ready to add a bit of class to your gifts!

These are amazing prints! That's not to say I didn't have issues. I did print all four. The one tag with the name "Caitlin" seemed to have an issue completing the back. I printed two of them and both had the same issue. Also, I had to flip the tag having the name "Jacob" because Studio complained about it "floating". After flipping, the "TO" was also raised. Were these supposed to be printed with the upside down (graphics on the build plate)? I printed all except the one mentioned face down.

First - thank you so much for the boost, rating and wonderful feedback! :) I just downloaded the model again and sure enough, the issues you described are front and center! These issues didnt exist a couple weeks ago, I always test by downloading my models to ensure they are good. So this is really unfortunate! I found that two of the tags had a Z offset issue that was causing part of the back to not print - I fixed those by just laying them flat again on the build plate. I also found that the "TO" text on 3 of the tags were raised instead of inset, causing the floating error. I fixed those too - and also put some fixes in to the text to stop it from randomly rotating when you edit it. Hopefully, at least. I really wonder if there was an update on the backend of MakerWorld that causes these issues. I will say, your first picture looks awesome with the raised tag with inset tree and snowflakes. Love that look, haha. So, thank you for letting me know your issues - the model has been updated so I hope no others have the issues you had. :) If you do have any other issues please let me know, it is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the updates. I'm reprinting a couple of the tags using your updates. If you look at the one tag I previously printed and uploaded, it looks like the objects against the background are shifted down. You can see gaps. I really noticed it when I found the border bottom not connected in the one uploaded tag print. I'm looking to see if the updates you provided corrects that issue. I really like your designs!

You bet! Thanks for the information and kind words :), i'm going to dig in again in the morning to see if I spot anything else. Strangely, I checked the original 3mf I originally uploaded when posting the model and the issues aren't there. Something must have changed on makerworld with the uploaded model... not sure. So perplexing. definitely me know how your latest prints go, i'd very much appreciate it so I can get this fixed!

This was a perfect style for my gift recipient and for the gift wrap it accompanied. Thanks for making it so easy to personalize with the name and the colors. I need to do a little research to figure out why I had some rough texture on the back along the top edge. Other than that one spot it came out perfect. I am due for Y-axis maintenance; is that the possible root cause? Thanks for making these tags so accessible for newbies.

Great color combination, that turned out wonderful! For your issue on that back - that is more than likely due to an 'ironing' setting enabled in bambu studio. You can find the ironing setting in the Quality tab near the bottom and just disable it on any model or profile that has it enabled. Ironing essentially runs the nozzle back over top surfaces at a much lower flow rate to try and smooth out the surface so you cant see the lines. However since everyone's printers and filaments are unique, the settings aren't quite universal and usually require some tweaking by each user. So for sure, that is an ironing setting issue and not anything wrong with your printer - to really get ironing down (which does produce incredibly smooth surfaces) you just need to do some testing if you ever want to use that feature. Just plop down 4 or 5 primitive cubes in bambu studio, make them 1mm tall, then gently tweak the ironing settings for each cube (via the objects tab) to see which one looks the best after printing. Boom, you got some solid ironing settings :) Hope that helps and thank you again for sharing and the awesome feedback. Definitely hit me up if you need any help or have issues!

thanks! I haven't learned how to address any quality issues, but have been very fortunate so far. I need to learn in general what to test and what to adjust to then select what's best. I bookmarked a bunch of benchmark test files but quickly realized I need to know what I'm looking for when I print them... what they are supposed to be telling me and what to adjust based on the prints. I printed a temperature tower and wasn't enlightened at all. LOL I'll poke at the ironing. Thanks again.

Thanks for a really nice model. I have a couple of problems. When i edit the name, it flips (quite easy to fix, just a note). Could you also provide the name of the font? It changes when i edit the text.

Thanks for the feedback! I am not sure what is going on with Bambu Studio and the name flipping orientation, I tried to fix it but upon opening it just flips again when I edit. Will keep trying to fix that. For the font - absolutely, the cursive one you see is called Christmas Time (https://www.dafont.com/christmas-time-2.font) which is free for personal use. The other font I use is called Britannic Bold which can be found here https://www.freefontdownload.org/en/britannic-bold-regular.font I'll update the model description to include the fonts, thanks for that :)

I encountered the same issue! To resolve it, I selected the last working option on the right. I then copied and pasted it, modifying the text. Finally, I moved it! :)

I could not get my font selection to hold. I downloaded the Christmas font and would select it as the instructions show. it would always revert back to the default. Any suggestions?

Fonts in bambu studio can be tricky - did you install the font for all users? If it reverts back to default when selecting it then it isn't installed properly and that might be why. otherwise you may need to try some other fonts you already have on your system! Hope that helps... hopefully bambu studio gets better font support in the future
