Description

Baratza Encore Catch Tray Version 2 (latest) - Upgraded to parametric model and gave a few wraparound options based on feedback from users in addition to the original design that is flush with the side of the grinder

 

This is a catch tray for catching the coffee fines and chaff that commonly fall out of Baratza Encore grinder when opening the ground coffee drawer. It has a hook that keeps it in place even if your grinder moves on the countertop. The hexagonal grid is removable for cleaning purposes and 3 options for hexagon diameter to suit your preference.

 

Think of this like a welcome mat for your freshly ground coffee.

Very simple yet elegant design. I opted for the mid size just based on where my chaff was landing. Based on where my grinder sits, cleaning the chaff is annoying. This is one of those great quality of life prints, which in my opinion is one of the best uses of 3D printers.

Sometimes the best things are the ones you did not even know you needed! I came across this as part of the coffee section of items. I was just looking around and stumbled on this. I had to have it, this is a real world problem I actually get annoyed about. The only complaint I have had about the grinder has been the mess! You have seemingly solved this issue for me, and many others. I appreciate this, thank you very much! As for actually printing this, it worked out fantastic! It was spot on for dimensions. I printed it on a modded Ender 3 S1 Pro with Klipper. I spent a lot of time getting the dimensions to be accurate when I print with my printer, and this catch tray was legit on point first try! I printed it with ERYONE Dual Silk Green/Black PLA. I can give my print profile, but imagine it would not help most of the folks on this platform out very much. The essentials are: - Layer height: 0.2mm - Line width: 0.4 - Walls: 2 - top layers: 3 - bottom layers: 3 - infill (this did not matter since there was no infill due to the walls filling it in entirely): 30% (my standard) - Nozzle Temp: 205 - Bed Temp: 60 - No supports, no extra adhesion (rafts, brims, etc)

Glad you like the new style! Posted a new profile for your A1. It is about 1/2" less wide to get it to work. All 3 options are there so just choose the one that you want. Attach pics if you like it and I'll add to the profile so others can see.

No problem at all! One of my big upgrades for version 2 was making it a parametric model so I can easily customize. Thanks for the photo! I’m using it as the cover for the A1 mini profile now.

Thanks for the kind feedback! My wife helped in the prototyping process. Her idea for how to attach to the grinder was much better than my original attempts. The intersection of coffee and 3d printing is our happy place 😊

Finding this print made my investment in a 3D printer 100% worth it. This fits like it came with the grinder from the factory, which it should've! Fixed my only gripe about an otherwise perfect grinder.
