Description

*UPDATE - Scaled (Single plate) print profile added for those that want a smaller size.

Snoop's doghouse in the style of a cutout, all decked out for Christmas. Great for bringing some Christmas decor to the office or home. The size with stand is 580mm (~22.8 inches) tall. This model requires a double AMS system but can still be printed on a single AMS if you double up some of the colors.

Other Christmas Charlie Brown characters can be found in this collection.

Requirements

  • Double AMS system

Assembly

Can be used with or without the stand depending on your needs. Simply press the pegs into the model to hold them tight. The pegs are designed to be tight so that the parts are held snug. They may be to tight depending on the calibration of your printer. If they are to tight feel free to drop the size by 2% increments until they fit. Make sure the peg infill is high as a lot of the model strength comes from the pegs.

If you don't want to use the peg you can always glue the pieces together and it works just as good.

Note: A new peg design was used for this model and should be a lot easier to use without them needing to be as tight. The pegs now click into place and lock into groves inside the holes. They can still be removed by giving them a good tug.

Steps:

  1. Insert the pegs into the model and connect the pieces together.
  2. Once assembled glue the brackets that the stand slides onto the back of the model. Use the stand rod to ensure the holes line up. Make sure the bottom bracket is a couple inches from the bottom. *Also take note of the center of mass when choosing where to glue the brackets to help keep the model from toppling over.
  3. If using the stand place the stand rod into the stand base.
  4. Slide the model onto the stand

* The stand was updated to be more generic so that it can be used with other cutout model designs.

Outdoor:

I typically use these as yard decorations to celebrate the holiday and print them using the outdoor profile (ASA filament). The bracket that are glued to the back are designed to fit these yard steaks but others roughly the same size will work too.

is there any chance you could offer this in a single plate scaled side to use as a smaller print.

Sure, I can create a scaled version. I'm on vacation right now but will be back in a couple of days and will post it then. I'll add it as third print profile when I do. Thanks for the suggestion.
