Description

This model comes in three main types of parts. The base and top piece, and the side panels. The panels slide into the bottom and you then have to put the top piece on. The lamp slides straight into the bottom piece and fits nicely. You will have to print the panel plate twice as i only designed two different sides since that's all you can see at once. This lamp is compatible with my cracked obsidian lamp, and lightning strike lamp. I am currently working on a bunch of other lamps to please feel free to follow me. If you liked this you Might like my other lamps too.

Sorry for late reply I have not but you can. especially if the little bit of light leak in the corners bothers you some glue can help that.

I have seen the new corner covering design, but I would adjust it to a more conventional structure like the one in the photo I sent you, similar to lithophanes. Then, I would like to ask how you secure the Lamp Kit 001; it’s loose and doesn’t fit snugly. In my opinion, you should create an internal base at the bottom where you can glue the lamp kit and ensure the cable exits cleanly

your light seems to be smaller then mine. others lamps seem to fit too. did you perhaps size up the model. also the whole point of this lamp is to not have the black bars on the side that’s why I made it multiple parts, so if you want the more conventional structure as you have said you can print a different lamp as I’m not going for the conventional lamp that every other panel lamp is like.

My lamp fits perfectly into the hole, it's a kit 001, what I meant is that the lamp remains mobile nonetheless, it doesn't rest anywhere, if you apply slight pressure to the embedded lamp, the lamp comes off easily, what I meant is that you could create a base on which to rest/glue the lamp, leaving just a hole for the USB cable to exit, I don't know if you understand

the corners of the panels leave a gap that’s bigger than the pictures show.

it might be the light making it seem smaller. sorry. I just like the way it looks with nothing going up the corners. and personally I like the little light coming out the corners it defines were one panel ends and another begins. but I do understand the pictures could be a little misleading and for that I am sorry.

I have just posted a new model that blocks the light in the corners form the inside of the lamp

The side plates are not connected, leaving a gap that allows light to shine through—especially with the required bright lamp. I'll try gluing them together, but incorporating this into the print design would be preferable.

Overall, quite good. It would be nice if there were some small angles on the side

Thankyou and do you mean sides of the panels or on the top and bottom? Cause their is a small chamfer on the panels just they are to thin for it to help and allow them to stop a little light from coming out of the corner, but I will try to make it better on future panels.
