Description

Glasses to welcome 2025 at your new years eve party!

I replaced the model and print profile with improved earpieces which are now foldable and print separately. There were reports of bad prints caused by the upstanding earpieces before. I redesigned them and here they are!

To assemble the earpieces:

  1. slide a piece of filament through the hole of the hinge
  2. cut the filament flush
  3. take a lighter and heat the filament at the top of the hinge untill it beginns to get soft, then press with a knife or something down on the hinge so the filament will not fall out
  4. repeat the process on the bottomside of the hinge

The glasses are 155mm wide and the length of the earpieces are 145mm, this should be standard size to fit 90% of the people. If you need other sizes, simply scale the glasses in your slicer.

Recommended filament:

PLA or PETG, whatever you have

Hotend: 0,40mm

Before printing, make sure your build plate is clean and apply some adhesive. Wash the build plate with oil free soap and wipe it off with some paper towels. For a good build plate adhesion, apply a thin, even coat of your preferred adhesive. I repeat the process every 5-6 prints.

Bad build plate adhesion is not related to the model.

Support Issue:The supports detached during printing.
Strength Issue:Some lettering fell off when removing it from the print bed, unfortunately, a bracket also broke during removal, which could only be held in place again with adhesive.

Which printer are you using I imagine that problems could arise with the bedslinger A1 and A1 mini due to the movement of the print bed The print detached from the bed I don't quite understand that

It is an X1C dampened against vibrations and with AMS moisture monitoring below 10% The print adhered to the print bed upon release (without adhesive)

Hmmm… the delamination of the lettering is truly perplexing, as all parts should be interconnected, eliminating this possibility The issue with the supports at the top has been reported by several users, thus I reinforced the supports in that upper area I might need to decrease the distance between the supports and the model However, this carries the risk of the supports fusing with the model, making removal exceedingly difficult

Thank you kindly! Maybe you should have scaled the glasses down for small faces, like i stated in the model description. But i am glad that you found a way to fix it. 👍

I was going to but I was afraid that I do it to much and the info on the bottles would not be readable and I printed it as I was sleeping. I work overnight so it was a 1 and done if it failed I was screwed lol. I have you followed so if you do them next year I'm going to try that.

Did you dial in your filament settings? I set up the print profile with support in this area so the earpice wont wobble. As you see in my print, it went flawless.
