This Wall Anchor Set provides a practical solution for emergencies, such as when specific dowel sizes are unavailable or during shortages. Designed for light to moderate loads, these anchors are versatile and adaptable for various wall materials. While not intended to replace professional dowels entirely, they serve as a reliable backup for quick fixes and specialized applications.

Features

  1. Size Range:
    • Includes sizes from 6x30 mm to 12x60 mm.
    • The sizes can be customized using a slicer's scaling function for other dimensions.
  2. Customizable Dimensions:
    • Z (Height): Adjust this to half the desired diameter of the dowel.
    • X (Width): Scale by the same percentage as Z.
    • Y (Length): Set to twice the desired dowel length for optimal stability.
  3. Split Design for Enhanced Stability:
    • Each dowel is divided into two halves, improving the anchor’s grip and stability within the wall.
    • Simply insert both halves into the drilled hole before inserting the screw.
    • For additional security, you can glue the two halves together.
  4. Emergency Use Case:
    • Designed as a first-aid solution for dowel shortages or when unconventional sizes are required.
    • Suitable for light to moderate loads; heavy-duty applications are not recommended.
  5. Material Efficiency:
    • Optimized to be printed with minimal material while maintaining structural integrity.

Printing Instructions

  1. Material Recommendations:
    • PLA: Easy to print and sufficient for light-duty applications.
    • PETG or ABS: Recommended for slightly higher durability or use in damp environments.
  2. Print Settings:
    • Layer Height: 0.2 mm for a balance between detail and speed.
    • Wall Thickness: 1.2 mm (3 perimeters) for strength.
    • Infill: 25–35% (Grid or Gyroid).
    • Supports: Not required; the design is support-free.
  3. Adhesion:
    • Use a heated bed set to 50–60°C (PLA) or 70–90°C (PETG/ABS).
    • A brim can be added for better adhesion if needed.

Usage Instructions

  1. Drilling the Hole:
    • Drill a hole that matches the dowel size. For customized sizes, ensure the scaling corresponds to the screw diameter.
  2. Inserting the Dowel:
    • Push both halves of the dowel into the hole until they align perfectly.
    • Optional: Apply adhesive between the halves for additional security.
  3. Screw Installation:
    • Insert the screw into the dowel and tighten it gradually to ensure a firm grip.

Notes on Limitations

  • Load Capacity: These dowels are not designed for heavy loads. Use them for lightweight fixtures such as picture frames, small shelves, or decorations.
  • Professional Applications: For critical installations, opt for commercial-grade dowels tested for load-bearing capacities.
  • Experimental Nature: This set is ideal for experimenting with specific sizes or when professional alternatives are unavailable.
