Description

Christmas House Build Kit

UPDATE 09.12.2023

The first version had an issue with the part Wall_A, where the tabs on the wall were bigger than the slots on parts GroundFloor_Pillar_A, GroundFloor_Pillar_C, GroundFloor_Pillar_D and GroundFloor_Pillar_E. The files are now fixed and contain a different version of Wall_A with shorter tabs.

If you happen to already have printed the walls, you can use the second print profile, just containing modified versions of the pillars, so you don't have to print all 3 Wall_A parts again.

----------------------

The model has been printed and tested on a Bambu Lab X1C. All of the parts are optimized for printing without AMS and easy assembly. Most parts fit by just sliding into each other, just a few ones may require some glue.

The tolerances between parts are 0,016mm and everything worked perfectly when testing with Bambu Lab PLA and PolyTerra PLA. Depending on the accuracy of your machine and your choice of filament, there might be a little bit of work necessary to make everything fit.

The file contains all the parts colored white. Take your time while choosing your colors and make it your very own model.

This my first kit-model, so I‘d really appreciate some feedback on the design and assembly process.

Happy printing!

i've started Printing and the pillars don't work with the walls the slots on the pillars are too small for the walls. I would recommend redesigning the pillars since it would be less to print than the walls thi si mainly on the bottom walls and the bottom pillars

I also ran into the same issue. The tabs on the walls are bigger then that slots on the pillers

@Ray_Forbes @andrea.donno I've just fixed the models and you have now 3 options: 1: The files are updated with a new Wall_A, that's the on that works with the current sizes of your pillars. I've used a wrong version of it in my initial upload, so that's on me. Now everyone who prints the whole kit, should have no issues with that anymore. 2: For everyone who already printed the walls, I've added a second print profile, containing modified pillars for A,C,D and E. You could print those so you don't have to print the 3 walls again. 3: I've tested simply clipping away a little part of the tabs on the walls. If you don't want to print anything again, snap away a little part with your cutter and it should work fine as well. See the attached photo. Thanks again for pointing out the error and let me know if everything works for you now!

beautiful model, had so much fun printing it, I gave it the same colors as our current home and will place it in the Christmas’s town decorations this winter. Note: had some extra fence printed and decided to turn it into a ladder on the roof.

nice addition to our Christmas houses. Getting the walls in with the pillars was tricky at times. The top roof had gaps near the front....i figure I had some torque in the walls so things didn't align well

I printed this on my X1C, and I am still working on it, but I haven't been able to figure out which pillars go where. I have made more that 40 house kits of all sizes, shapes, and kinds, but this is the most difficult I have worked on. I would recommend that if you print this, DO NOT glue anything until you put the entire house together and I wish you luck.

Thanks for your feedback! I do not have too much experience specifically for house kits, this was just one project I had in mind for christmas. I agree regarding the pillar positions, it might be difficult to find the right spots if you don't keep track of their names in the files which correspond to the names in the guide. But I'd always love to improve for future projects, so would mind sharing one of the other kits you built? I'd love to have a look on the assembly process.

Here are a couple of the most recent large Christmas houses. The Advent house was designed by Fulv on Cults.

Thanks for the great model. I reduced the size to 75% to match my Lemax collection and everything fit together perfectly.
