  • Expanded Functionality: Optionally, you can print additional filament guiding components to improve spooling and prevent tangles, ensuring smoother filament management.

PTFE Tube Length:

  • For the basic version (without additional guiding elements), a 3 cm PTFE tube is recommended.
  • For the enhanced version (with filament guiding elements), a 6 cm PTFE tube is recommended.

Print Profile Options:

  • Standard Hole: Recommended for tubes around 4.1 mm, providing a standard fit.
  • Smaller Hole: Recommended for tubes around 4.0 mm in diameter, providing a tighter and more secure fit for better stability.
  • New Filament Guide Compatible with Side-Hole Spools: Designed to prevent filament guide from falling into side spool holes, ensuring smooth unwinding and eliminating errors caused by jamming.

Nice idea. But in actual operation. The three parts can come apart when the AMS is performing the loading cycle i.e. When it's loading a new filament and performs the long feed, then retraction. The three parts almost need glueing together, But the PTFE tube doesn't make that easy. Alternatively, the hole size requires reducing so that the PTFE has to be forced into the printed pieces to create more friction. I used Orcaslicer to reduce the X&Z dimension to reduce the hole size of the guides. Now I have to force the PTFE tube in to get a good friction fit. Unfortunately, cannot do the same for the buttons. The buttons by themselves are excellent and make pushing the AMS buttons much easier - thanks!

The issue is likely with the PTFE tube, as they don't always have an exact 4mm diameter. I'll create a new print profile with a slightly smaller hole to ensure the tube fits more securely.

I have added a new print profile designed for smaller tubes. It should now fit perfectly without the need for glue.

Hi, I have printed the smaller version. I confirm that I am using PTFE tube purchased from Bambu EU. Its outer diameter is 4.01 - 4.02mm. I loaded your two profiles. Orcaslicer measures the larger guide hole as 4.20mm and the smaller guide one as 4.10mm. The friction fit is better, but honestly it is still a little slack. May I suggest that you reduce the diameter to 4.05mm. I believe that this would provide a nice friction fit.

It looks nice, but if you use a heart-shaped guide with spools with holes in the edges, there’s a risk they might get stuck if the guide falls into one of the holes.

Printing without issues on the X1C. Caution: Initial tests have shown that it only works well with original Bambu filament spools. Third-party spools with less favorable gliding properties may jam, as the lever between filament feed and spool drive is amplified
