Description

This was inspired by my forever not having a loonie when I needed it while shopping at stores that needed one to use the shopping carts.

I have added two plates. One with a single and one with 20. This is for those that may wish to sell at markets once I get my patreon up and running.

To change colors simply change the options under your filament selection.

Please see the other photo with some color matching inspiration to help with your color choices. I will be releasing a series of Canadian Loonie keychains with different graphics on them other then “Canada” in even more color combinations in the future, so follow and they will be released over time. Also please share your print choices so others can see all the options.

I will also be starting a patreon for those that want to sell these and my other prints in the next few weeks.

Please Note: Some shopping carts will be a bit tighter then others. My personal experience is that if it doesn't fit in one cart, it will like work in the one beside it. This is mostly due to how new or old the cart is. Even a real loonie is tough to get into some carts.

this would be perfect if it was made a little thinker it seems a little too thin and i worry that it will brake easily because of how thin it is. Anyway if anyone could make it a little thicker so its more ridged it would make this perfect. 🙂👍✌️

Thank you for the comment. I did test a slightly thicker version. The issues is a Loonie is 1.95 mm so the max you could go is only .35 mm higher. What I found was an exact measurement of 1.95 was was too thick for the carts. Depending on how dialed in your printer is minor thickness can vary. I found for me higher then 1.60 was just too tight for some of our local carts. That said anyone could also change the Z height manually to test on their local carts. Unclick uniform scale first.

ok no worries mayi just had some bad pla i will re print it. only reason i thought it could maybe be thicker is because an older one i had before was more ridged than this one that i really liked i just can't find it anymore so was trying to find another one and your key is the only one i can find that is almost the same as what I had. anyways thank you very much and have a great day 🙂 👍 ✌️

I was looking it over and one way I could make it more ridged is adding more thickness to the inside of the design but leave the letters, maple leaf and edging the same height. If I get a chance in the next little bit I will see what I can do to try it out.

lol totally understand what your saying, I experience the same winters. I have had this design for the past year and used it last winter with little issues. I just finally uploaded it as I have a few different designs soon being released. As I said in the description some cart coin mechanisms even struggle with a real coin as they can be tight. The rare time its tight, I just go to the next one beside it and one of the them usually works fine. Let me know how it goes.

if you really Jimmy it you can get the cart to unlock but even when you do, key can't be removed easily. love the canada design on it. Just needs to be a bit thicker and some geometry change to be removable!

Thank you for the feedback, did you try it on multiple carts? I found about 1 in 10 carts it does have some tightness to it, but the same can be said for using a real Loonie. The newest carts seem to be the tightest. I would recommend using the X,Y,Z options and change those numbers slightly. Each store can use different technology in their coins devices. What works at superstore might not at sobeys. Make sure you do it independent of each other to keep sizes that work. Some printers depending on how dialed in they are can cause extra thick extrusions making the object wider then desired.
