After finding the incredibly handy switch plate adapter by TheTimminator, I was really thrilled to find something that was going to fit my 1999 Delica L400 light bar switch… although then I decided that I didn't love the final fit, as it was missing a tiny lip to secure my switch and had a little side to side slide.
After a bit of messing about, I realised that by pretending I understand 3d modelling, I could refine the switch adapter to better suit a very common light bar/spotlight adapter used here in Australia, the Kings Smart Harness Plug n Play Spotlight Wiring Harness, carried by 4wd Supacentre. (Also another hobby I bumbled my way through the installation for).
I just want to really thank https://makerworld.com/en/@thetimminator for putting the plate out there, and for sharing the file in a way that I think means I'm allowed to remix it! Apologies to anyone who looks at my adjustments and finds them lacking, I really just tried to add some additional material to let the clips connect, and don't really know what I'm doing otherwise!
I've tested this through various iterations of the print, and my currently installed switch is printed in ABS-like resin on an Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k, although I see no reason it wouldn't print on an FDM printer (I'll try later). I highly recommend using a material with some kind of flex to it, as both the outer part of the switch plate will click onto the dash, and the inner part of the switch plate will have pressure applied when the light bar switch is first connected to.
I've installed this into my Series 2 Delica L400, although I believe that this switch may fit Series 1, 3 and 4 Delica L400s, and potentially even similar aged Montero, Pajero and Triton cars… maybe even an L300, I've never had a chance to check!
