It catches my attention, but I can't quite understand its purpose. Does it help my VR headset in any way? Or is it just to have a sense of where I am in the room when I step on it? Sorry for my ignorance. :p

;) no problem.. this plate helps me in my room, where e.g. other sensible things are next to my gaming radius not to change my location too much. In case of playing action related games after some attacks and some turn arounds, this plate helps me (personal view) a lot of finding again my middle position. it works by haptic.. which means I feel with my feet if i am next to my center position or not. I also like to recenter to my room door, which is also easy possible with this plate.. / the meta guardian setting doesnt work so well for me, so i pefer this kind of haptic recentering.. but if you have a room big enough for gaming you dont need such a save guard ;)
