I've seen quite a few filament clips, but I wanted to give the MC2 a touch of customization. I hope you like it, it drives me crazy personally.

It wasn't easy to design such a small and functional piece, but I have had experience with mini zippers.

Designed to make its application simple on all coils, the piece is universal.

Revision V2: date gg/mm/aaaa 19/11/2024

The image below explains the changes, I inserted some shims to block the wire, it tended to slip

Revision V3: date gg/mm/aaaa 24/11/2024

I have placed the off-set between the 2 bodies as you suggested so you won't have the feeling of breaking, so the piece is ready for use.

I also fixed the stitching on the new .3mf, now they don't come close together.

Thanks for your support, I read every comment.

PROJECT: Fusion 360

Opening: For the opening I created a functional block

Closure: For the closure I designed a very resistant mini gate, with the right offset.

Movement: Thanks to its integrated mini zipper with on-site printing, movement is simple without any jams.

PRINT SETTINGS:
It can also be printed in PLA but PETG is recommended.

Print it with any material, I used Bambu material.

-Ugello 0.4mm

-Layer height 0.12mm
-No Supports

-Ironing

-100% filling

-4 Walls

Post production:

-Wait for the piece to cool a little before removing it from the plate.

-Now start moving the zipper, there should be no impediments.

Usage:

Fit the Filament Click Clip onto the spool, take the thread, position it and zip it closed

Note:

Created for 1.75mm filament but if you like and need I can also do it for other sections

Happy printing, if you like follow me for other projects.

See you next time from MC2.project3D

The filament is still too loose with version 2 :( It's a shame, this model is the most promising of all the filament clips. I think the part that holds the spool needs to be even tighter

I don't want to risk the file not attaching, especially since tolerances vary on 1.75mm I hope this is acceptable to you nonetheless Otherwise a ridiculous 0.1%

Parts bonded together with 0.4mm nozzle. Update: was able to get 3 of the 6 to work.

The first 2 (of 6) broke when I tried to close them. I pulled the other 4 out of the scrap bin; and was able to get 3 working.

I thought they were printed well originally, but then I found that almost all of them have the hinged bonded. I used 0.4mm nozzle. Apparently the print profile didn't work. Hope it will be fixed soon. Great idea, but doesn't work.

I found 10 of the 12 have binding problem. Those are only for one time use, then broke when I use them in the 2nd time. Please fix the model. Thank you

Excellent clips, ready to print. Truly functional. Printed with inexpensive PLA, not Bambu, currently functional. I will keep them until they break!

Yes, certainly better for a strength factor, I just got the printer and it's the only filament I have at the moment. Thank you

Exceptional print quality, all components articulate smoothly without breakage, fit perfectly onto the spool, and securely hold the filament, preventing slippage

The print was successful, the hinges function flawlessly, but as soon as I tried to fit it into the spool, it broke. I will attempt printing it in PETG

You'll have them printed in PLA Matte. Which spool did you want to use 🙂

Clip works great. 12 of 12 printed and worked after letting cool completely overnight. P1s with settings imported into bambu studio. I am color coding to help id filament - pla/asa/petg. One green with one silk on my two odd rolls of pla-lite. (Disregard the silk clip. Zero holding power). Then I realized, what happens when I run out of green I am using for PLA and can't make any more green clips? My idea, designer, is add a ring to the back so we can make small signs in the sign lab and hang mini signs on the clips that say PLA or ASA. They could be tied on with string or get cheap key ring clips or someone come up with a print in place ring! Yea, that's the ticket! If I had any design skills, I would work on this but I am very new. Thanks ! edit. someone has made a carabiner alread: Carabiner Key Ring Model A, Model B by snize - MakerWorld
