Description

Castle Under Siege

In the kingdom of Stonewatch, a playful competition has emerged among the castle's mischief-makers. Rival pranksters are testing their wits by seeing who can push the castle’s magical roof to its limit without causing a collapse. Each prankster adds either a water droplet or a spark of flame to the barrier, hoping to be the last one standing when the roof finally gives in.

In this fully printable game, all you need to bring are the tissues to serve as the magical bearer for each round. This is a lighthearted game that is easy to play with family and friends similar to the popular Thin Ice game with similar game mechanics.

🔥Two new accessories out now! A little containers for the droplets by @lbirch76 and a fun color profile for the dice by @CraftyPrincess
🎉New Non-AMS 3MF file ready for download - Many were asking to have a model that is split that doesn't require the AMS.

How It Works:

  • Role of the Players: Players take on the role of playful tricksters engaging in a friendly rivalry. Rather than waging a fierce battle, they are mischievous competitors, each trying to outwit the others in a light-hearted contest to see who can push the castle’s magical defenses to their breaking point without causing a collapse.
  • Strategy and Survival: The goal is to survive the longest without being the one who causes the magical barrier to collapse. Players must carefully place their pieces to ensure the defenses hold while also putting pressure on the next player.
  • Losing Condition: The player who places a piece that causes the roof to collapse is deemed the one who pushed the magic too far, breaking the last defenses and losing the game.
  • Winning Condition: The last player who successfully places their piece without causing the roof to collapse is crowned the master strategist, having outlasted all their opponents.

Gameplay:

  1. Each player receives a set of wooden tongs - these magical tools are essential for carefully placing pieces during the game.
  2. Starting with the youngest player and proceeding clockwise:
    1. Roll the dice to determine how many pieces you must place
    2. For water droplets (blue): Use your tongs to dip the piece in the castle's well before placement.
    3. For fire droplets (red): Use your tongs to place the piece directly on the magical barrier
  3. Speed is crucial - you must pass the dice to the next player immediately after completing your placement. Holding the dice when the barrier falls means instant defeat!
  4. The magical barrier becomes increasingly unstable with each piece added. When it finally collapses, the player responsible for the fall (or holding the dice) loses the round.

Assembly:

It's incredibly simple to assemble your new castle game! Once all of the parts are printed, you can slide the wooden tower pieces into the provided holes in the castle base. Just slip a tissue or paper towel between the top of the castle tower and place the ring at the top.

🎉Pro tips: For a more polished look, trace the outside of the top ring onto your tissue and cut it out before play. This creates a cleaner appearance by hiding excess tissue during gameplay!

⚠️ Warning: Contains small pieces and may not be suitable for small children.

wonderful design and print! I separated out the legs and made them so the top locks into the bottom using the same pins/holes with the legs, tongs and pieces all in the center. also added a cap which holds it all cleanly together (see photos). makes for a more compact overall setup at the expense that's it's slightly wobbly when setup but still playable. Happy to upload the variation but no idea how (I'm new here).

You can upload your .3mf print profile by clicking the 3 dots at the top right of this page and then "Add Print Profile". To make the print profile, just add all the parts into Bambu Studio, separate everything onto different plates as needed, set everything up as if you are going to print it, then go to "File ->Save Project as" to save your .3mf file.

Someone else asked for this as well, so they could store it in a smaller box. I’ll try to get to this soon. if youre in a hurry to play, you can also use bambu studio slicer to cut and dowel, but it’s a little advanced slicer operation.

Hello, @user_3123752353 I have uploaded a design with the legs separated from the top ring. I have only printed a small section to test the fit, but have not printed the entire thing. If you'd like to print it all, take a photo, and upload the print profile, you can earn some points from it. Thanks,

Hi. I like the version with seperate legs. They fit perfectly if assembled to the base first. Soon I will finish it :)

Fantastic game, my kids have almost gone through a kleenex box now playing with it. For a harder mode, if you have 2/3 ply tissue, separate them. I also ended up enforcing a "no shake" rule on the water, and that you have to pass the dice with the same hand you use the tongs. My kids were basically dumping the drops and whipping the dice at the next player, lol. I also have reprinted the "fire" drops with 100% infill to add some weight -even with 1 ply it was possible to get all pieces in play without it breaking. If it is still too easy I will re-print the water droplets with fuzzy texture so they retain more water when dipped. Kids absolutely love it! (I printed the variant with the lid/removable legs)

thanks for sharing the photos. glad the love it and great explanation. I was also thinking of other variants like fuzzy skin to hold more water or different shapes. cheers

so I did reprint the fires with 100% infill - made it so we couldn't get 100% of the pieces on there. Difference of only about half a gram per "drop" but it did it! My daughter came up with the idea that the fireballs should be "spikey" so they're more likely to tear the tissue. It'd be harder to print though.
