Description

Found similar model, tried to tweak it to add a foot, after using it for a few days, went back in and made more changes.

  • Reinforced the base (it warped slightly at 65c) so it's thicker w/ holes all the way across
  • Added a v-section on the bottom to redirect more airflow inside the tray
  • Added a small handle: I had snapped the edge of the other tray I made after I shortened it. Keep it shorter, but put a handle to make setting it in or removing easier (and less change of snapping)

Best to print in PETG, ABS or maybe ASA. I found Transparent PETG typically will have a higher melt rate than standard or HF PETG (my black Polymaker PETG warped at 65c, where my Overture transparent PETG took to 70c till it warped). PLA Basic, PLA + and even PLA Pro warped! (BL, Creality, Overture)

You want a material to handle the hottest cook temp of your filament or machine. This design (PETG) handles up to 65c in a drier for up to 10hr with no warping. With the new airflow, the beads did get drier than in the older design (given the same amount of time).

Perfect design for my Sunlu S4 and already successfully recharged dessicant. Can't remember if I turned the supports on.. but looking at the bridging (which is actually pretty good given the distance) I probably didn't... Still very happy with the result. P1S, Bambu PETG HF

Thanks. Looks nice :) yeah the underside of the edges can be rough. It only needed 1 side with support, but can still print w/out. Also take care of running BL PETG-HF toward the 70c mark, mine warped slightly (thus why i switched to transparent/translucent, it can cook @ 70c no warping.)

Printed 2 and one of them cracked already. I put super glue on it and it seems to working. I would print this again

Where did it crack? The handle section?

along the side right near the base. see the attached photo. you can also see where the sides have gotten slightly soft and started bowing, even though it’s made out of Petg. Both of mine do it. I wonder if the sides weren’t made a little thicker if it would solve both problems? also they could be slightly longer. they seem to want to fall down if bumped or not grabbed firmly. basically long enough that they can still slide back and forth on the rollers, but never fall down off the rollers.

I just want to say again, I do really like these and I would print again. Either when I get a new dryer or these were to get updated. I wouldn’t hesitate to reprint these.

My first ASA Print! The first attempt warped early on (thankfully), but increasing the bed temperature to 100°C and preheating the chamber solved the issue (with no glue on the PEI plate). This design is excellent, with clear benefits over the original. I was curious about how effective the Sovol dryer would be with the desiccant, considering the desiccant instructions recommend 3 hours at 250°F to recharge—but it works really well! Huge thanks to the designer!

Great, glad you figured what the issue was. I dint use it for fully color changed beads, but to weekly top off my AMS buckets. Easier than cranking the oven up for only a cup (8oz).

The million-euro question: will this design also fit the SH01

Not 100% sure, but it should as its based on a design for the SH01. It wasn't long enough to span the metal rollers inside the SH02 so I modified it.
