Simple Magnetic Print Head Cover for A1 & A1 Mini

I made a simple magnetic extruder cover for super-quick change and to be close to the original design.

Compatible with the original extruder wheel and also my own wheels that you can find on my page.

Description:

You'll need 4 piece W4mm H2mm magnets. (4x2)

I made the file so that it pauses the print and you can insert the magnets for a perfect product.

But you can use the other model, delete the stops and just superglue the magents in.

The ring slids into the front hole to make the shape closer to the original face cover.

I printed with Bambu - PLA Basic - Light Grey to match the color of the printer.

Printed nice, looks great and works as intended :) The last magnet‘s hole is to deep for a D4*2 though. (tall piece)

This is great! I found that even with the correct size of magnets it was difficult to get them to fit. I am relatively new to 3D printing, so perhaps I need to play with my settings a little.

Like all of your A1 mods, I love this so much! Such a simpler and more elegant aesthetic AND even more functional than the stock design. Thanks so much for all the great mods! I’ll boost you come Monday 😁 Printed with a 0.2mm nozzle and a super tack cool plate. Almost doesn’t look 3D printed!

Excellent idea to pause the print at the right moment to insert and integrate the magnets. Finally, I no longer need to panic about breaking the noses on the original lid during disassembly. This makes handling much easier

Printed beautifully with Bambi PLA-CF. I “welded” the two pieces together and it looks like one piece once on the printer. I love the simple minimalist look with the addition of the sci-fi wheel. I have one on my A1 and A1 mini.
