Description

Mini Snowflake Ornament Pack

This is a collection of my most popular snowflake ornaments… miniaturized and available as a single download for easy printing! This was a request from a user here and I really thought it was a wonderful idea. I had to remake each ornament in Hueforge to accommodate the smaller size and also ensure detail was still there. You can easily print all 8 snowflakes at the same time, or mix-and-match to your hearts content using your favorite styles.

Each snowflake is sized at 75mm in either width or height using 3 colors of Blue, Morning Blue, and White. You can really have fun with the colors here if you want, for instance Purple, Yellow and White can be a fun combination. These are also a bit thinner at 1.6mm instead of 2mm - details become so small that taller prints can quickly become impossible for .4mm nozzles - however this new 1.6mm thickness ensures you will get a great output.

When slicing, if you get any warnings about floating regions you may safely ignore those!

I DO NOT recommend scaling these smaller than they already are - and if you want them larger, then check out my 150mm snowflake collection (below)

The print profile is setup and ready for an AMS to make this an easy print. If you do not have an AMS, simply remove the color swaps in the slicer and replace with pauses so you can change colors.

For those who wish to set the print up themselves and not use the setup profile, read below (applies to all snowflake styles):

When assigning colors, be sure to look at the layer # AS WELL as the layer height (in parenthesis next to each layer #). I use height modifiers, so if those 2 don't match up then just use the layer height and you will be good. Hit me up if you have any questions.

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm
You may print at higher layer heights below the Min Depth of 0.48mm

Filaments Used:
PLA Overture Blue Transmission Distance: 1.6
PLA Overture Morning Blue Transmission Distance: 1.9
PLA Overture White Transmission Distance: 4.4

Swap Instructions:
Start with Blue
At layer #6 (0.56mm) swap to Morning Blue
At layer #13 (1.12mm) swap to White for the rest.

Hey, Snow flakes look fantastic, curious as to how big the hole to hang them is? was looking to potentially mount them on the windows with some 14mm Suction Cups, they have a 5mm shaft with a 5.5mm head. I usually stick some vinyl ones all over the windows each year but that gets wasteful as they cannot be reused and these looks legitimately like an ideal option.

Howdy! Great question - the hole sizes on these range from 2mm to 4mm at the largest, definitely wouldn't fit on a 5.5mm head. The snowflakes are so small, the holes on them are already about as big as they can be unfortunately. As a workaround you could potentially tie a super short string through the snowflake hole, which you could then hang on the suction cup shaft. Might not look as pretty (or maybe it would!) ... if you have any ideas i'm open to it!

Yeah that could work! Will have a look, will have to order a light blue though.

Excellent! You don't necessarily need light blue, if you have colors you think may work, let me know which ones you have and I can send some example pictures of how they may turn out.

Nice but I change the profile. 0.08 is not necessary.

Thanks for the rating, very much appreciated! HueForge mesh and core is built at a specific layer height to achieve proper blending of filaments, so changing from .08 means you won't have the proper blending from one color to the next. But these are so small, I imagine that might be ok - would love to see how yours turned out! :)

This file is freakin enormous. My gaming computer can barely open it. Any tips because I can't even slice this thing.

That is strange! The file is only 21mb, I just downloaded it again to check - it took about 45 seconds to slice on my old laptop. What slicer are you using and is it up to date? I haven't encountered anyone else mentioning this - perhaps a good old reboot could help?

I think there is something up with the way my system deals with hueforge. I use bambu studio.

Very interesting - I also use Bambu Studio and its very fast for most of these hueforge prints. It can be really slow if you use Arachne wall generator method with hueforge (i've had some take 20 minutes to slice). But these snowflakes dont use that method.

Turned out well except one. That could have been me. I'm pretty new at this.

just the top seemed to be frayed and brittle. like I said. it’s probably something I did. I am pretty new at this.

thanks for sharing, that print was great except for the top like you mentioned. I was just curious incase there was an issue in the model... that could be a symptom of wet filament looking at the area around the top, could also be a bed adhesion issue, or a little of both hard to tell since it was just that area of the print and the rest is really good. may try a good dry session + washing the build plate, just spitballing (and please ignore if that is stuff you already do)
