Description

Roads is a tabletop game of dexterity and strategy, loosely based on Tokyo Highway with some unique and fun features that make the game more addictive, custom rules and additional challenge elements. As skilled Engineers, players are tasked with constructing intricate elevated road networks, using pillars, roads, and bridges of varying heights. The objective is clear: to place all of your cars along the suspended roads, avoiding collapses and making the most of every strategic intersection.

Each turn, players can place a single piece, which may be either a road or a pillar. As the network grows, the ability to create secure yet challenging connections becomes crucial, as placing a car requires completing a road between two pillars that, in the same turn, intersects with at least one opponent's road. With Roads, building upwards isn’t enough; players must plan paths that intersect with their rivals’ routes, earning the right to place their cars and getting closer to victory. The first Engineer to place all 10 of their cars claims the title of the city’s best builder!

The game’s components are designed to offer a complete and immersive building experience. Each player has a set of 10 straight roads, 6 single-curved roads, 4 double-curved roads, 2 bridges of different heights, and a variety of pillars (5 of 3 mm, 10 of 5 mm, 6 of 10 mm, 6 of 15 mm, and 5 of 20 mm), as well as curved pillars for each height. These pieces are accompanied by 10 cars and tweezers to aid in precisely placing pieces, especially during advanced stages where constructions become more complex.

The game board is enriched with decorative elements, including 8 buildings, 2 lakes, 2 parks, and a river, adding challenges and restrictions to the constructions. These elements serve as obstacles that Engineers must navigate around, as roads and pillars cannot rest on these structures. Additionally, each road has a limited capacity: it can hold a maximum of 2 cars. This detail introduces a tactical element to ensure players’ vehicles always find space along the network.

Roads is designed for 2-4 players and provides an experience that combines strategy, dexterity, and a good deal of patience. Ideal for those who enjoy construction games with a risk-and-reward component, Roads offers varied and engaging rounds where the suspended city grows, intertwines, and becomes enriched with increasingly complex paths.

Are you ready to demonstrate your engineering skills? Step into the world of Roads and build your path to victory!

Attached to the set are rulebooks with the number of pieces per player and complete information for gameplay, in both Italian and English.

Note: When slicing, import the larger box lid (to store skyscrapers and decorative elements), split it into parts, and choose the desired colors for the graphics. Recommended print settings: 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layer height, 10% infill.

Nice, but too small parts, not clear... used to resize and remix to classical Tokyo Highway.

Did someone say Tokyo highway? No, because writing "innovative" for a plagiarism of a game doesn't seem particularly ethical…
