Description

*desk charger for Apple watch and for Phones using Apple magsafe chargers.

*designed to hide completely the cables.

*you can charge two devices at the same time.

*the phone magsafe is rotating with magnetic snap in two positions. You can also charge your airpods on it.

*no supports are needed for printing.

*simple to print and assemble.

*no hardware is needed.

*I have added an optional desk tray (profile) in which the charger fits.

*optionally, use 3 magnets of  6x2mm so that the rotating movement of the phone charger has a snap-in action for easy and precise movement in both positions.

*optionally, use some Adhesive Foam Sponge Strip Roll on the bottom, so that the support is not moving on your desk.

Assembly:

*Please be sure to insert the magnets with correct orientation. The top moving part will contain two magnets which both should attract the 3rd magnet found on the middle part.

*I wanted this model to not put much strain on the magsafe cables when rotating a lot the top part, so one of the gray clip is especially created to hold better the cable where it exits the phone magsafe charger.

*Please check bellow image for exploded part view:

*please route the watch cable through this clip, so that the phone cable doesn't hit the watch cable while moving.

Love this. Made it for my girlfriend and she's obsessed. For my phone case however I found the magsafe magnet was too strong and I'd lift the whole thing off the desk trying to get my phone back. So I added some negative cylinders (20mm diameter) to the print and some pauses to add some pennies I've had sitting around that aren't worth their weight. I was able to double the weight of the body with about 140 pennies. Works much better!

great idea about the weight! I usually don't pull the phone, but slide it to one side, to not lift the whole thing. Plus, i'm using it with the optional tray. In fact this is what i wanted for my desk, a dual charger combined with a tray for my daily tools. (to have a cleaner desk) Anyway ... love your idea and if i will print another one, i will try this. It's a good idea for other things also. I love to add some weight to my models. This makes them feel less cheap.

great print, but newer watch chargers have this reinforced cable by the charger and the base model doesn’t accommodate for this. I ended up cutting my thumb open attempting to jam it in

damn it ..... you should have told me before trying to cut it manually 😔... I had no idea Apple had different watch chargers! I already did some changes to the model to allow reinforced cables for the watch also. You can try again printing only the middle ring with the watch. Thank you for letting me know about these different charger cables and sorry you had to do it manually. 😔

Have you updated the part to allow for the reinforced watch cable? I printed out 2 of these before finding out the cable won't go in.

Good design, MagSafe puck slot was loose so had to apply VHB tape in order to keep it in place. I used a soldering iron to put the magnets in.

Thank you for your review. I did added a bit more tolerance to the magnets holes. Not much, as I like that i can insert them with my hand and not have to glue them in. (from 6,15mm to 6.20mm) Regarding the MagSafe puck slot, indeed, I left a bit more tolerance as I didn't wanted to have users that could not insert it at all. (also because of different filament calibrations etc.)

Ah I realized I used D6x3mm magnets which is why I needed to use the soldering iron to heat them in place

I took the liberty of creating a small, simple frame to provide slightly more stability when removing the phone https://makerworld.com/en/models/1011514#profileId-990979 Perhaps this will be of interest to some of you

Unfortunately, I don't have magnets now (I will get them soon) and had to use tape to hold the mag-safe charger because it was loose. But I loved it! It will help me keep my desk clean and tidy :)

thank you ! strange that your charger looks very different than mine 🤣 Yes, depending on the filament and calibration, you can use some double sided tape to hold it better in place. I could have made it with smaller tolerances, but then some people would have issues inserting the charger into the model. 🤣 Thanks a lot for your boost! cheers! 🥂

Great design! I love that I can use one magsafe charger to charge both my phone and stuff that don't have magnet in them now, clear up a lot of space. I made a small adapter to clamp a garmin charging cable in the watch charger slot since I switched to a garmin FR965 a few weeks ago. It looks like crap cuz I was impatient and printed it on a textured bed... but works surprisingly well.
