Filament Clip that stays (for BBL Spool)

Another Clip but the last you will need!

This filament clip simple stays at your Bambulab Spools forever.

I always had filament clips attached to the outside that kept getting lost. That's when I came up with the idea of attaching the clips via the holes in the Bambulab spool. While construct and test i see the idea wasn't new but my clip has some advantages:

YouTube Short

  • Horizontal print orientation for the small pins, makes it safe and stable
  • Pins snap in very well
  • Large insertion area makes it very easy to insert the filament
  • Filament holds itself without kinking or bending
  • Ultra small reliable fast print time ~5min print time without preparation

In addition, there are also further advantages to the pin holder:

  • Clips can always be attached to the reusable bamboo spools
  • AMS compatible 
  • No problems when reloading the spools either

It printed in Bambulab PLA Basic, PETG & ASA all worked fine, but keep in mind to clean your plate, the parts are small!

Previously had printed clips that use friction to attach spool edge but they have an issue where they get loose after being in a filament dryer. I would assume these would hold much better in that regard so printed a bunch to have 2 on each spool and some extra.

Oh yes that should be proved. Maybe try ASA or ABS

Only have A1 mini so no ASA/ABS for me but made these from PETG HF which should survive in the dryer/oven 🤞

These. clips are my new favorite!! I love that I can leave them in the spools in the AMS. Made enough for all my spools!

Great clip. Printed some for my Sunlu reels. Increased length to 42.5mm and enlarged reel holes with an 11/64 drill bit.
