Looking for BSPP thread testers? You can find them HERE!
November 10, 2024 Update:
Added tester variants with a tab for easy organization on a ring, cord, or zip tie.
Product Description:
The Thread Gauge Tester for hydraulic pipe threads offers an essential tool for anyone working with pipes. This simple yet efficient device combines the practicality of a classic gauge with a modern, elegant design. Perfect for all users, each thread gauge tester includes both male and female thread sizes, providing a comprehensive solution for checking hydraulic pipe threads. These testers offer a quick and accurate measuring experience, ideal for easily checking thread sizes even in tight spaces.
• Number of testers: 5 NPT standard sizes
• Available sizes: 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch
Printable files and quantities:
• 1/8 inch thread gauge: 1X
• 1/4 inch thread gauge: 1X
• 3/8 inch thread gauge: 1X
• 1/2 inch thread gauge: 1X
• 3/4 inch thread gauge: 1X
Printing Instructions:
Printing thread gauge testers is easy and straightforward. No special configurations are needed; they can be printed using standard 3D printing profiles. A layer height of 0.15 mm is recommended for good results, but a finer layer height of 0.1 mm can be used for more detailed prints. We also recommend setting the infill to 100% to ensure robust prints. For materials, PLA or PETG is recommended for their ease of use and durability.
If you encounter adhesion issues on the print bed, adding a brim can help improve stability during printing.
For optimal thread engagement, it may be necessary to screw and unscrew the tester a few times to achieve a smooth fit between the threads
Tool Objective:
The objective is simple: accurately check the thread size of hydraulic pipes, even in tight and hard-to-reach spaces. The ease of use and quick measuring capabilities make thread gauge testers perfect for both brief maintenance checks and extended work sessions. Thread gauge testers are designed to withstand repeated use and are easily replaceable due to their lightweight construction. This makes them not only practical tools but also cost-effective, reducing the need for more expensive and bulky measuring instruments.
Did You Know?
The invention of the threaded fastener is attributed to Archytas of Tarentum, a Greek mathematician and engineer, around 400 BC. However, the standardized screw thread as we know it today was developed much later, in the 18th century, by the English engineer Sir Joseph Whitworth. His work in 1841 laid the foundation for the standardized thread forms used in machinery and construction across the world today.
