This is a guard to be used as a reminder to stay out of the way of the rapidly traveling A1 Mini printer bed. The bed of the A1 Mini travels forward in the Y-axis direction beyond the front edge of the printer. In my case, the front edge of the printer sits even with the table edge allowing the bed to travel past; I frequently forget this and sometimes I'm sticking my nose directly in the possible path of the bed. I haven't been hit by the bed yet, but I don't care to have it happen. Also, sometimes children visit my printing area and this bed travel can be right at their eye level. So, I made this guard.
This can be printed without supports when oriented as in my .3mf file.
The design has three colors as shown… I used ASA because I had the colors I desired, but I'm sure PLA or PETG would work well too. Shown is ASA Polylite Grey, Numakers Burnt Orange, and Numakers Pitch Black.
Assembly: Remove the two screws under the front of the enclosure at the front of the Y-axis. Slide the guard from the front under the enclosure (note - the guard has draft angles on it to match the printer enclosure, so it must be slid from the front). Replace the two screws previously removed. Also note that this guard may be just thick enough where the front rubber feet under the printer don't securely touch the table surface; in my case I added two slightly thicker rubber feet as shown in one of my photos.
I recommend that you re-run the printer calibration after installation of this accessory.
