Model Details

This is a blank slider and indicator. One can use the Text function in BambuStudio to enter any two-way indicator. I added a divider in the center of the body to help align the text. I also added two designs to get the creative juices flowing: ON/OFF, CLEAN/DIRTY.

It is designed to be held by two magnets. Various plates are available in the Designer Print Profile to be compatible with a variety of magnet sizes. The magnet holes are push-fit, but super glue is recommended for a reliable, permanent install (check polarity when installing!). The slider has a 0.1mm tolerance for a tight, smooth glide, which I found empirically to be the gliding Goldilocks zone.

Plate Description:
Plate 1: Blank sign body sized for two 12x3mm magnets
Plate 2: Slider
Plate 3: ON/OFF sign body sized for two 12x3mm magnets
Plate 4: CLEAN/DIRTY sign body sized for two 12x3mm magnets
Plate 5: Blank sign body sized for two 10x3mm magnets
Plate 6: Blank sign body sized for two 8x3mm magnets

Assembly:

Insert the bottom of the slider into the bottom groove of the main body
Align the slider with the top notches of the main body, and press firmly. Some have used cooking oil to help.
Move slider back and forth until the movement is smooth gliding! This will remove debris in the groove. **Slide back and forth quickly ~20 times.**

Snapping the slider in was pretty tight and I was worried it might crack, but it worked perfectly. Great tolerance. I slid it back and forth a bunch of times to loosen it up and it's perfect. I embedded (6x) 6x2mm hidden magnets with a gcode pause and it sticks to my dishwasher great. Excellent model and presentation. Thank you! Thank you! It took a few prints to get right. Some may have been broken in the process of desigining it lol I like that idea of hidden the magnets. Something I might try for future models!

Hi! Thank you very much for sharing this great design – I really like this slider and would love to use it in a slightly different way. I’m wondering if it might be possible to have (or how I could modify it to get): A keychain loop – I’d like to turn this into a small keychain version, so a simple integrated ring or hole on one end of the body would be really helpful for attaching a keyring. Some damping / detent for the slider – at the moment the slider moves very freely. I’m hoping for a version where the slider has a small “click” or resistance at the two end positions, so it feels more stable in each state. Editable text on the base plate – I’d like to change the text on the base (for different messages) and was wondering if you might be willing to share a version where the text is easy to edit (e.g., a parametric or source file), or any instructions on how you intended the text to be customized.

Responded in your other post! To add on: To use the text tool in BambuStudio select the model and in the top tool selection select "Tool Shape". Here you can add a text box on the left side and another text box on the right side. I placed a divider to help center the text within each side.
