Description

Hi all

This is a book nook horror inspired by Xenomorph from Alien

You can find 3 plate so you can chose what version print

The first one consists of 4 pieces (box with face, hand 1, hand 2 and tongue)

The second one consist of 5 pieces all splitted (box, face, hand 1, hand 2 and tongue , i dont like print the face flatten but i leave the choose to you)

The Third is a Wall mount Version

the dimension is approximately 11x10x21cm you can scale it as you wish

At the back there is a niche where you can place a weight to prevent the piece from falling forward

Wow! Excellent paintjob! How did you nail the "kinetic" look of the spit?

You are a master!!! Any chance you could tell me what nozzle, temp, and speeds you used? I am so nervous with my first big print!! hahah

No, no, the master is Treddigineer, the creator of the model. I didn’t change anything and used the original profile (didn’t modify the settings, so 0.2mm layer, 2 walls, 20% infill). I’m printing on the A1 with the standard 0.4mm nozzle. Because I was impatient and wanted my alien quickly, I printed the objects from plate 2 (Splitted Book Nook). However, if I wanted the print to be absolutely perfect, I would choose plate 1 (Standard Book Nook). I don’t think you have anything to worry about; it’s a really well-prepared model. Just make sure you have enough filament so you don’t have to change it mid-print, and I also recommend printing each object from the plate one at a time rather than all at once, so the head doesn’t move too much across the bed.

Great model, little tricky to decide which orientation to use and kind of a stress test 😁 went with "on its back + variable layer height down to 0.08" which took about 10h just for the head. Was absolutely worth it!
