Description

This filament guide is designed as a companion to the AMS saver. When I installed my AMS savers about a year ago, I couldn't find any suitable guides, so I made this drop/bullet-shaped funnel. It has a small thread to secure it firmly onto the PTFE tube, preventing accidental detachment. This guide features a wide Ø4.5mm opening at the top, narrowing down to Ø2.1mm where it connects to the PTFE tube, making filament insertion easy. I have been using this for about one year and have had no issues of it getting stuck in the roll.

 

Mounting.

When mounting the guide, avoid overtightening. Once you feel resistance while twisting, the connection is secure. Overtightening will not strengthen the connection; in fact, it may strip the PTFE tube, weakening the hold.

I just bought my P1S and started printing today, just some quick prints with the included PLA samples. This print took about 15 minutes in Sport mode and works perfectly

What particular AMS saver does this go with? I looked up AMS Saver and I'm seeing all sorts of items?

I would say anyone of them, since this is just a part that attach to the PTFE tube towards the filament roll. It is supposed to prevent the end of the PTFE tube to get stuck in the open side of some rolls and it also at the same time acts like a guide/funnel when loading new filament. With only the PTFE tube itself it can sometimes be quite finicky to get the filament into the hole of the tube. But with this on the end it is easy.
