Description

After struggling to find the perfect slim wallet online, I decided to create one myself. I wanted something compact yet roomy enough for cash, customizable, easy to use, and, most importantly, secure. This is just the first version, but I already have a few customizations in mind to share soon, so let me know if there’s a specific one you'd like me to release first! I hope you find it as practical as I do, and I look forward to seeing the color combinations you come up with!

UPDATE #1

I updated the print profiles, adding a new plate with a version of the wallet opening to the opposite side, designed for left-handed users!

Instructions for everyone

IMPORTANT! Before adding glue read below the image if your wallet doesn’t stay closed tightly enough

Does your wallet close too loosely?

Simply scale the Z direction of the spacer by 0.1/0.2 mm and reprint it, ensuring that the "uniform scale" option is unchecked!

print came out great, but I’m having a hard time opening the wallet, did these two seams get fused together for me and that’s the reason why? Great looking print however!

did you use the default print profile settings or did you change anything before printing? or maybe it could be a calibration issue, try to separate the parts with a cutter and see if it opens

anyway thanks for the feeback!

yes I used the designer A1 mini profile for the PLA single color and didn’t change anything, I ran a first layer test and things weren’t extruding as expected so I’m pretty positive the issue was on my end, will definitely reprint once I get it sorted, was just wondering if they were supposed to be fused like that or not but I’m assuming definitely not haha, thanks for the quick reply anyhow!

updated rating: did not had the chance to reprint yet. responsive support though… 👍 original comment: i selectively printed the essential parts but could not make it work. perhaps i have broken something ? no separate part came off 😟🤔…cards does not come out.

probably a piece got fused to the inner base of the wallet. did you print it as it was on the plate, or did you move/rotate anything before printing? what do you mean by "selectively printed the essential parts"?

yes i moved things around. i printed only the left opening piece, front cover and inner spacer. place them all in one plate and printed by object (two blue piece first then the black). i did not change any settings thought. fused piece is a likely scenario. sorry, this rating should not be on the print profile.

try printing it without changing anything and see if it works, the main thing is not to change the face of the wallet that is placed on build plate, as it's positioned like that for a reason. if you still have issues it could be due to the calibration of your printer or excessive vibrations during print. btw you can edit the rating if you want and if it's the case :)

After initial issues (my fault), a very cool print. Works perfectly.

This slim wallet is great. Printed with matte PLA and it came out perfectly. I did end up adding the little insert, but only so that it would cut down on the all to familiar scraping sound. That more of a bit pic for my GF who cant stand that sound. Other than that this print came out great. Thinking of making a few of these for the holiday season!

printed this with bambu’s black and matte red pla, and it looks really good! I did have the issue another person did, where certain seams on the sides were fused together, so I took a knife and cut along them, and I was able to open the wallet after. the back face plate also would not stay in place and kept popping out, so I just glued it down eventually. Sucks cause I wanted to print a variety of coloured plates and swap them out. Front face plate stays in place perfectly though! I also found no good use for the front compartment, aside from sticking a key there. It doesn’t work conveniently enough for change, and the rattling sounds would drive me mad either way! i don’t like having my bills folded more than once so i didn’t use it for cash either. this one might just be a me thing and not a flaw but i thought i’d share it anyways. if you had a version without the front compartment i think i’d like it even more! don’t mean to complain too much but I figured it was worth mentioning these if you plan to revise the design down the line. That said …. I still really like it overall and I’ve gotten rid of my wallet and replaced it with this print for my cards, and I carry it with me everyday! Yeah I got a lot to complain about but I still think it’s great! Thank you for making this and keep up the good work! <3

thank you so much for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it and it’s incredibly helpful. let me address your points I’m sorry to hear about the fused sides, this can occasionally happen if there’s a lot of vibration during the print, but I’m glad to know you were able to separate the parts without too much trouble regarding the textured plates, they’re actually meant to be glued in place so it’s normal for them to pop out without adhesive as they don’t have a locking mechanism. I’ll make sure to clarify this in the instructions, thank you for pointing it out as for the front compartment, I completely understand your perspective. I tried to keep it compact to avoid making the wallet too thick, but I’ll definitely be releasing a version without it soon your feedback is perfect for helping me improve the design and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share it. I’m really glad you like the wallet overall and I’ll keep working to make it even better 😊
