Description

This case is for the normal Miyoo Mini, not the Plus version.

Its a remix of a case by chikitan2006 on cults3d and the illustration by Joshua C for another case in Printables.

The original case is really well done, but the closing tab is a bit weak, specially when printed with matte PLA.

I redesigned the case to use small magnets (12 magnets total. D2x1mm).

If there's interest I could redesign it to work with D2x2mm magnets which are in maker's supply.

The interior of the case is meant to be lined with adhesive felt or any other soft material to protect the screen and hold the device in place.

NOTE: The photos are from a version that opens to the right, but the uploaded profile opens to the left

Filament used:

  • PolyTerra Muted Red
  • PolyTerra Ice

Correct me if I'm wrong but this case is for the miyoo mini plus, not the original miyoo mini. It would be nice to change the title to clearly state that

Oh I'm sorry. I just saw it's based of a mini plus case and saw the dimensions and thought that's bigger than the mini. My bad. I'll print it just have to think about a nice color pair. Thanks :)

No worries, I can see why it was confusing. I updated the description to specify its for the normal miyoo mini Thanks for the feedback and good luck printing it! I'd like to see how it comes up

It's a very nice case, the dimensions are perfect, but unfortunatelly the hinges are too weak. Just putting the case together was enough to wear one of them and now when I open the case it falls appart. If a different type of hinge could be added then this would be the best case for the mini.

Thanks for the feedback, could you tell me what printer did you use and what material? There are small guides (cuts) on each side for an easy assembly of the hinges. You're meant to assemble one side and then guide the other pin through the guide. Maybe the issue is that you're forcing the 2 pieces together? Other than that, maybe it comes down to the material. I've assembled multiple cases, and someone on reddit sent me a picture of the case. All were done in PLA

I think the biggest problem for me was that I used transparent PETG to print it and I couldn’t really see the slits to put it together and maybe forced on the wrong part for it to be together. I’ll try again with PLA but I think it would be great to have it pointed out in the instructions about the slits in case someone is as dumb as me 😂
