Description

This is my model of the SSV Normandy SR2 from the Mass Effect series. It is the Alliance version from the third game. The model is some 50cm long and is a kit. The pieces are divided per their color.

For the assembly, I recommend to watch the following video.

The print is turning out awesome for the most part. I tried printing the Normandy part and is have alot of bleed through. Is there a suggestion to help with this. Thanks for the great ship. love this series.

It seems to be the slicer. I fixed it by changing to .2 layer height and reprinting only those pieces.

Thanks for the tip. I had tried to do a reprint of only those parts at .2 and there wasnt a difference. You are correct. Its the slicer with the issue. I ended up repainting those parts with only top layer and it came out perfectly. will update with photos once all the parts are finished.

Printing on a textured PEI bed was a mistake. Don't repeat my mistake.

Oh no. Do you mind if i ask what happened with the textured PEI bed? it printed pritty much perfect on my P1S using the textured PEI bed.

The slicer compensates for the bed texture by adding to the Y dimension. It's not much but with tolerances this tight it was noticeable and I had to sand it down. The model is really beautiful, though. Thank you for your hard work.

That actually helps me out with another model I was having issues with. Totally didn't even think of the bed being the problem; thanks!

Very very nice Modell, you are a Master in 3D CAD. I love the Mass Effect Story! I make it with Bambu Lab X1C and AMS. All in PLA, Bambu Lab white matte, chorcoal matte, Extrudr NX2 Navy blue. Stand in Bambu Lab PLA Metal Iridium Gold Metallic.

Amazing print. I had to print the nameplates at .2mm layer height, the slicer decided to print some black and blue under the white otherwise. It looks like a slicer bug to me.

I had the same issue. I will try your suggestion at .2mm later height, just for those 2 pieces.
