Description

This is a simple and quick print based on my popular Stanley Chapstick Keychain model (https://makerworld.com/en/models/576645#profileId-497241). I wanted to make a functional and simple design that was more versatile.

This container is water-resistant. I held it submerged in a bathtub for a few minutes and it didn't leak. I can't commit to it being waterproof long term but it certainly would be fine in rain or any other temporary situation.

It can hold a standard chapstick (I used Burt's Bees) or any other small trinket, cash, or anything else. It fits on your keychain and is very durable. Please follow the print profile for best results printing the threading.

UPDATE 10/28/24: Added a WIDE profile for chapsticks up to 20mm diameter.

Other Issues:the tube and cap came out fine but the threading frayed as soon I tried to put it together.

Really like the print. Good size. Needed a bit of lubricant, but opens beautifully!!

Came out great! Threads are very secure, initially added a little lube to work it in, very smooth now. Nice job!

Works great! A good way to keep chapstick on me since I always tend to lose mine. Though my only tip/advice would be maybe scale it to be larger on the x & y axis and shorten it on the z. As it wasn't able to fit a lot of my chapstick due to how narrow the inside was; but as for the height it's got plenty of room to shrink there if need be

what brand chapstick did you use? I have Burt’s bees and it fits but I can scale it if needed to fit other brands.

printed great but threads seem very tight, the first 2 threads were good then they would become so tight it would break the threads trying to take off the cap. I used pla silk (not sure if that matters) seems like you used a tapered pipe thread and should have been a straight thread like a bolt. tube is very solid though. After I broke the threads I did a destruction test on it and it’s solid besides threads.

I’ll check the threads. thought they were straight. made them tight to help with waterproofing

Every time I print this the top of the tube breaks.

How does it break? I have made probably 10 of these now with no issues.

Love this. Don't use it for chapstick but rather eclipse gum

Lid and container threads don’t work together.

They are tight on purpose to help with waterproofing. Try a different filament. I have printed plenty of these and they work fine after a break in period.
