Description

This spring loaded mechanical pill dispenser holds between 4 and 6 pills for each day of the week. The mechanical spring action makes it easy to load and take your pills every day, with a clear indicator showing whether you've taken today's pills. Profiles are available for Morning, Afternoon and Evening pills, but you can modify the text on the Lid object to personalise the container. A version with no text is available by default.

A Non AMS profile has been provided that has the text embossed instead of being in colour so that people without an AMS can still print this model.

Small (2 to 4 pills) and Large (6 to 8 pills) versions are available as well.

See this video for a guide on how to assemble the container:

Here is a guide on how to fill and use the pill dispenser:

Great design, my daughter had me print the medium and large models. They were put straight into action and filled. Work Great!!! Thank you for sharing, very useful. Printed in Sunlu Tri Colour filament on Bambu A1.

this is a nice design, but I am having issues with it turning cleanly. it seems to get stuck in Wednesday, but all parts came off of the build plate cleanly. also, I was wondering if it should be printed in PETG so as not to absorb moisture and if there could be a version with an area for desiccant to further improve your design

If it's getting stuck on a particular day, that might mean one of the ratchet prongs is slightly bent. This can happen when lifting the ratchet parts off the bed. It's also possible that there's a small blob of filament on one of the teeth that engage the ratchets. PETG is a really good choice of filament for this model, particularly for the spring. Over time, PLA might loosen, while PETG is more likely to keep tension in the spring. The desiccant idea is a good one - I'll give it some thought!

Ah I see, I will likely print another in PETG and give it another try. One seems to work okay, but doesn't fully close on any of the days. it seems to work smoothly until I put the lid on for some reason? also, I noticed that the lid is not quite flush and seems a tiny bit larger than the bottom Thank you for your speedy response and for hearing out my input! 👍 !

Ah - yes, it looks like the lid is slightly misaligned, and that could definitely cause a day to not lock in properly, since the teeth for the top ratchet are in the lid. Try removing the lid and reinstalling it, while clicking through the days as you try to seat it. The lid should be completely flush when installed - I've had that happen myself a few times, and it should be easy enough to get it to sit right.

Printed great using Elegoo PLA. I did the single color with embossed lettering and everything works great. The print is fine and everything functions great. The only issue I have is a usability one. It would be really cool if there was a way to have it where you could take the lid off and have access to all compartments to make loading it easier. I understand this is a pretty big redesign but would be nice. Other than that, this model is excellent.

Tolerances WAY too tight, leading to pieces that will only fit together if too much force is applied, and a mechanism that will either not rotate the inner chambers or get stuck mid-move. IMO, the whole model needs to be tweaked to fix the tolerance issues, which should fix most, if not all, the problems I've experienced.
