Description

I created this model for my daughter's Halloween costume. She wanted a wand that was longer than I could print in a single piece. This three piece design is surprisingly sturdy when assembled.

I have created a few more variations of this wand. All parts are interchangeable.

For X1 and P1 printers, the wand shaft are printed vertically to improve finish and eliminate the need for supports. The shaft is 10mm diameter and 240mm tall. Print with door open or things will get a little inconsistent at the top of this tall, thin print.

For A1 printers the wand shaft has a small flat area on the side to increase surface area of the first layer. The shaft is printed horizontally with supports. The bed movement of the A1 printer will likely cause the print to fail when printing vertically. Please select the correct print profile for your printer.

Scaled it a bit to fit my needs and it's perfect :)

This is the best thing I've seen all year. What scale did you print this at?

Replying to @DirkMcGirk :
I scaled all the elements to 20%, but the bar was too long, so I cut it in half after printing.

I think I know what happened to this print. I have updated the A1 print profile to have a slight flat face on the bottom to create better bed adhesion. Let me know if you try the new profile and if you have better results.

I just had the same thing happen on my A1. It ended up destroying my heating assembly (new one on order) because of the catastrophic failure. Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone. :-(

Great print! By printing by object, I could print the stars simultaneously with no waste. The handles were printed one at a time. They fit together snugly, although I added glue to ensure the kids didn't pull them apart.

My girls love these, printed 3 colors. Was able to print three stars at the same time by doing per object, then did 3 sticks, The handles did one by one, but is pretty fast. And they hold together without glue. Though I added some to keep the kids from pulling them apart.
