Phone Stand

UPDATE V2

Improvements:

  • Changed to worm gear mechanism, you can now set your angle more precisely, and no more accidentally movements!
  • Support heavier phones, the worm gear will lock the position in place to avoid flip over by some very heavy phones.
  • Bolts and nuts tolerances are adjusted for more types of filaments.

Introduction

A stable phone stand, you can choose between standard phone holder or magsafe charger holder, you can also create your own holder, the 2 holes distance are 40mm and shaft diameter is 10mm.

Assembling

Quite straight forward, just look at the picture below

M3 Version

I also create another version with M3 bolts and nuts to assemble, checkout here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/704379#profileId-642445

Remark

  • For all the parts contain thread, please print with 0.16mm layer height, tested with Bambu PLA Basic and Matte.
  • This model are tested with X1 and A1 Mini, for A1 Mini you need to re-position the plates.
  • MagSafe charger holder works only for Apple MagSafe Charger 1m & 2m 2024.

Enjoy your print

any chance you can do one to fit a charger with a diameter 59.50 mm I'm new to 3d printing and tried to modify that inside diameter with no luck... be greatly appreciated if so!

Placing phones with high centers of gravity can make the stand's center of gravity appear to be shifted backward and off-center. It is recommended to slightly adjust the center of gravity to accommodate new phones with large camera lenses. Additionally, heavier phones can cause the gears to spin or become excessively loose and shift independently. If possible, increasing damping or the ability to lock would be beneficial. The four legs can be left with a 1mm recess for attaching silicone anti-slip pads.

Indeed, these issues exist, and I have a new improved version that I haven't had time to finish and upload yet. I used anti-slip pads on the footrests myself. Thanks for the feedback and support.

One small addition, the diameter of the charging cable clip should be increased, as fast charging cables are quite thick these days!

Most foreigners still use original cables, while aftermarket cables are less common. After making it bigger, I guess more people will ask for smaller sizes. However, this detail should not be used by many people.

Amazing color! I only used the Black PLA Metal from Bambu before, the green and blue looks fantastic.

My favorite print! I’ve made a bunch of them to dial in colors and will give some away as gifts. Gold, black, red is my favorite so far. Super fun to build, with the exception of one too long bolt, which I have to saw 1/8 inches off. Looking forward to printing the iPad stand, and I’m waiting patiently for the next HX8 design! Thank you!

thanks for your support, I double checked the print profile and didnt find any wrong parts, would you please share with me a photo for that special bolt? thanks.

It’s this bolt. For me, it’s an 1/8 inch too long, and leaves a gap when max tightened. I hacksaw the end and it works great. Confirmed with multiple prints.

I added a non-slip pad in the middle, perfectly preventing the weight of a phone from causing the entire structure to sag

I just love it. Awesome design dude. Unfortunately the screws were too tight and some broke mid thread becouse the hole was too tight, even following the printing instructions. I just used glue in those spots. Honestly i would loosen the tolerance a bit! Like, i can't fully screw in the caps for the head piece. I have also remixed the head part to accommodate the old magsafe puck and another aftermarket one, i will post soon. Printed with Overture Matte Black PLA & Overture Royal Gold PLA

Hi man, thanks for your support, did you printed the part contains thread with 0.16mm or less layer height? 0.2mm definitely won't work out, if yes, maybe it's the flow rate problem? if I set a higher tolerance, the filaments from bambu or sunlu, which I tested, will be too loose. Waiting for your old magsafe adapter profile!

Gold parts are printed at 0.16 mm , honestly the filament it is calibrated, i would definitely prefer loosen screws and maybe the needing to a drop of glue instead risking to break them... maybe it is worth to like shove some of the thread perpendicularly (imagine placing a perpendicular cilinder over the thread part and just cut a lil bit), in this way you mantain the same tolerance when screwing but give a bit more space when you put the screws, also the printing will be easier. in the next hours i will post my remix for the head part. thank you so much again for this great model.

Solid design. Assembled well. A little tight getting the gear hooked it but works well now that it is.

This was a fun one to do. All parts fit snug. Love the design 😆I printed it in Bambu PLA Basic red and black and the print came out fantastic; no issues!
