Hello everyone,

I have gained considerable experience in the design and construction of lightboxes. I wanted to take this experience and expertise to a higher level. Particularly, mounting and soldering strip LEDs can be quite challenging. I have developed a new design that eliminates many of these issues.

For this project, I used a 6W spotlight LED powered by 220 volts. It is quite affordable and an easy-to-find material. The model and dimensions used are as follows. There are three color options available. Each time you turn it on and off, a different color greets you. The diameter of the socket where the spotlight LED fits is 9.5 cm. You need to pay attention to this dimension when buying.

Alternatively, you can use the Bambu Lab Led Kit 001. For this purpose, I have added a part that fits into the LED spotlight socket.

Alternative Spotlight LED (you can access it from the link below)

Since it runs on 220 volts, I used a SONOFF Basic smart Wi-Fi relay inside. You can control your devices with your voice using voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri.

I printed it with PLA Plus. It ran continuously for one day. The spotlight LED gets hot, but it definitely did not damage the body or cover during this time. For longer-term use, I recommend using filaments such as ABS, PETG, or ASA.

I recommend taking safety precautions when working with 220 volts!

Required Materials

  1. 6W spotlight LED powered by 220 volts (9.5 cm)
  2. On-Off appliance cable
  3. Sonoff Smart Wi-Fi Relay (optional)
  4. You can use the Bambu Lab Led Kit 001. (I have added a part that fits into the LED spotlight socket for this purpose.)

I designed two options for the lightbox, depending on your taste: Cylinder and Funnel

It was a very enjoyable and fun process and design for me. I hope you enjoy it too. Happy printing to everyone.
