Description

This remix box is based on the original by @make3dtc. I liked the design but ran out of room quickly, so I decided to use his style of a box and add more space in the tray and under it.

You can use the printed pins for the hinge components or you can use M3 x 35mm bolts. The rear hinges are set up to incorporate M3 Nuts

  • Round head pins are for the front latches
  • Hex Head pins are for the rear hinges

Check out make3dtc profile for some of his great work. https://makerworld.com/en/@make3dtc

Printed well, ranout of filament mid way, fixed ans resumed, caused a pretty cool look to it! Fits everything well!

Very nice box! I'm beginner, so only thing that went bad were lifted corners. I googled that setting the brim (just 5 mm) helped a lot so I printed the lid with 5 mm brim and everything was much more precise. Also don't try to print hinges from SILK filament like I did, they are too fragile ;)

Thanks for the heads up on the silk filament.

Hey! Do you mean the lifted corners on the lid? almost like it was a little warped?

It was warped, not sure why, because for the lid I used a brim (which helped a bit), but in the end lid printed warped in corners anyway :/ Curious if I did something wrong, as even other big and flat things I printed have warped corners. I use only basic plate without any glue or spray.

Those are for pressing down on the holders for the filament tubes to remove them.

Despite slight warping (my own fault), it turned out great

Do you know what caused the warping? My lid is slightly wrapped. thanks!

This usually happens when printing something with a large surface area and many consistent layers—in this case, the walls for the boxes—the walls cool down faster than the base, contract, and warping occurs… It's best to use a 3D lacquer or other adhesive; this helped me

Damn, why not 4 slots for nozzles? :( For A1 you can have maximum of 5 differect stock nozzles, where 1 is always installed on the printer.

I am reworking the box for a few revisions. I will look at adding the 4th nozzle slot!

Would I be able to put the instruction paperwork, stickers, etc that come with the printer in the bottom section in these revisions?

Let me see if I can find mine so I can pull a measurement from them. But if you have yours could you post the measurements and I will see if I can find a way to make it happen.

i love it! printed flawlessly and looks amazing. Only issue i have, this could totally be user error, is that that the removable tray is a snug fit making it a bit difficult to remove to get under. it would have been cool to have two finger spots to lift the tray evenly out. regardless amazing print. Thank you!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I put the finger grip for the back just above the nozzle needle and use the spot for the grease and oil to lift it out. But I will make it more defined in the revision.

i did see that, and again it could just be me, but when i tried to use it, the tray didnt come out easily. i figure one finger grip in front and one where you have it now might make it easier to release it? or maybe i just add some wd40 to the sides to help it slide a bit better. and again i really do love this. best tool kit i've printed so far!

What are the three circles, red, blue, and green, for? Is the red one for the scraper blade? A support for three lubricating pieces needs to be added

The area under the red circle is for the spare scrapper blades. The zone under the blue circle was a point that you could put you finger into and your thumb in the area where the grease and oil are to lift the insert out of the box to get to the storage space below it. The space under the green circle is for miscellaneous stuff. There is plenty of space below the insert to store extra grease, oil and lubrication tools.
