Description

Boost Me (for free)

Boost for my very first upload here! Thanks for your support!

UPDATE: HARDWARE FREE EDITION released!

No bolts, no nuts, no inserts, simple assembling, try with the new hardware free edition.

Remark: all the parts contain thread recommended 0.16mm layer height, the tolerance in this model has been tested with Bambu PLA basic and matte without issue, 0.2mm would be too tight to screw in.

This is my very first upload on MakerWorld, a phone stand with multiple holder options, standard holder, magsafe holder or your own design.

Assembling

The assembling is quite straight forward as you can see from the image, you will need:

Hardware free edition:

No hardware is required in this edition, print, screw in, finish.

M3 Only edition:

4x M3x16mm bolts (for the feet)

2x M3x30mm bolts (for the base and arm)

2x M3x40mm bolts (for the phone holder, both standard edition and magsafe edition)

8x M3 nuts (5.5mm width and 2.5mm height)

*Optional: 2x M3x30mm bolts for the 2 shafts to make sure the rotating parts are not getting loose by use.

Hot insert upgrade:

You can choose to use hot inserts upgrade version, please print 4 spacers upgrade kit. In this version you will need the following hardware:

8x M3x4x5.7mm Hot inserts (shorter version works too)

4x M3x16mm bolts (for the feet)

8x M3x6/8mm bolts

4x M3 nuts (5.5mm width and 2.5mm height)

*Optional: 2x M3x30mm bolts for the 2 shafts to make sure the rotating parts are not getting loose by use.

Remarks

Attention: for the MagSafe holder in my original design, is only for Apple MagSafe Wireless Charger 1m & 2m 2024, the older one has a larger diameter, I might add it later on.

Enjoy your print!

another sample print, with Bambu Lab PLA Basic Silver (volume rate down to 14% and 50% speed), Bambu Lab PLA Matte black and desert with default printing parameters, upgraded with wider feet to looks more stable, although the original enough is. The 2 M3 bolts on both shafts are not mandatory to have, but I like the tighter movements.

How did you resize the feet to be larger without also changing the screw/bolt sizing? I like that look but dont want to go through too much trouble to get there.

I didn't resize them, there are larger feet stl and profile you can find, just print them instead of the original small one.

Looked everywhere and cant find a larger feet STL. Are you saying its on Makerworld as a different website? I looked in every file on this build page and didn't see anything indicating different feet.

I didn't actually need a phone stand but I did want a nice hygrometer holder, so I made an attachment: https://makerworld.com/en/models/780135 HAN's model/profile is one of the finest I have printed. It looks stylish and everything fits together with a chef's kiss. I used PLA-CF black and some on-hand PETG-HF cream. @23BNHX8 might I suggest an HX8 with two articulated arms for a lamp / whatever folks want to attach. Kind of like this one: https://makerworld.com/en/models/195554

Hah! True. I will hold out hope for an Apple watch HX8 with some of the dimensions reduced. Oh, never mind, I just found and ordered a larger hygrometer... 😂

Hi Han, there is a small problem with this design though. when I keep my iPhone on it the gear is turning down automatically because of weight. if you could fix that gear with some lock or make the gear tight then it will be cool.

Here is my own print, bambulab PLA Matte Black Charcoal and Desert Tan, I created my own wireless charger holder for my 3rd party one from Amazon.

Can you please share your stl/3mf file for your remixed charger holder? seems I bought the same from amazon. would be very nice :)

I think this is what I need as well, if you'd be so kind as to share - I measured the extruded internal diameter of the "mag safe charger holder for hardware free version" once I printed it off with black PLA and I get ~55.2 - 55.4 mm, which is just too tight to force in my 3rd party charger, unless I just messed up a setting or there was some expected post-processing I skipped. Open to suggestions, of course, but otherwise love the design. Very aesthetic, and I'm looking forward to taking this to show off at my office as a conversation starter.

This thing is so cool, and it deserves 5 stars so I will give it that. But I do have one issue with my print. The angle adjusting gear teeth are too fine. Mine started slipping fairly quickly. Would love to see some more robust teeth. Grip tape on bottom is Cat Tongue - Gription and its incredible. Remixed the larger feet to work with hardware. Note.... If your case has a protruding bezel around lens are it might not sit on the magsafe correctly.

thanks for your support bro! as a little tip: please change the direction of gear bolt, you inserted in a wrong way, which make the teeth not biting each other.

ok.. now its definitely 5 stars. Just flipped it around and now its flawless. I guess I didnt notice before since it seemed to be working fine at first when I had it backward. Either way now its smooth as butter. Already working on my second! Also I tried to upload the file I made for "Larger feet with hardware version" but couldnt because of licensing I guess. If you want it I can send it to you for you to upload.

Cheehoo! It came out awesome! The assembly was easy, and required a little Mulan - to be a man montage strength. Like others have said, this is incredibly stable and is not falling apart anytime soon. Phone: Z Fold 5 Printed on an A1 Mini using Microcenter PLA+ filament.

It's BambuLab's Carbon Fiber PLA that came with the printer itself. I am absolutely in love with how it looks and feels. It's def a bit stiffer / rigid compared to PLA, which is perfect for the main frame of this piece. Also just in love with the finished model itself, tho I'm still waiting on my charger to arrive. Thanks for putting this out in the community!

I like the hardware free version a lot. I want to make the feet from something flexible (TPU, Armadillo, nylon), because a single drop broke a foot (glue applied, in the vice). Also, I reduced each threaded piece by 1% because they were a bit tight. The adjustment bolt by 1%, so the accompanying male threaded piece by 2%. Have you considered making a latching mechanism to make the cradle and magsafe more easily switchable? (happy coincidence for the temporary foot.) Thanks.

Thanks for your support, quick release function was not planned in this project, the initiative was a simple phone stand, my next project will be a real multi-functional tool, as a sneak.
