huge thanks for every boost!

About the model:

Minimalist whale sculpture reflecting the animal's natural elegance.

Print info:

Scale it up as much as you want, but keep the custom support! I created the print file using a different color for the base, but printing it with only one color is absolutely fine too.

For easy and reliable support removal, avoid adaptive layers* and use my 0.2mm print profile.

*Adaptive layers and supports don't pair well. If you set a 0.2mm Z distance for the support you only keep this value valid if you use 0.2mm layer height all along. With adaptive layers each layer has a different height, therefore the Z distance value is practically impossible to keep. The support might get much closer to the part than intended, resulting a strong bond.

Did you use the 0.2mm print profile?

I just used the standard profile provided with the post. I didn't have my PC on, so I had to use my phone, didn't edit anything

Then the problem might be the filament setup. What filament were you using? In the standard profile generic PLA was set.

Came out great, was not mentally prepared for my son to ask about the snowy whale with skis, but hey, that's life.

Very nice model! I printed the large size using the designer’s print profile. If you have AMS, I highly recommend to use PETG as your support layer interface (if using PLA as your main material). Doesn’t add too much print time and allows the supports to almost fall off. mine came off all in a single piece, leaving virtually no evidence on the bottom of the model. I used some no-name matte PLA.

Scaled by 50% w/Bambu Studio & printed on P1S/AMS Combo w/Bambu Labs PLA. Functioned flawlessly

Support Issue:They wouldn't come off at all for me. Otherwise, it would have been a beautiful model.

Surly a very nice filament, but the used profile is for the Bambu PLA filament... that's what it is meant to be used for... if using non Bambulab filament you need to run a set of different calibrations and save your filament profile to get the same accuracy, that is very hard or more or less impossible to include in a profile in Bambus profilesystem that works on every type of filament.

Removed the adaptive profile since so many had problems with it.... uploaded a new low polygon profile instead, hope this one works better for you, printed 4 times with different filament myself... looks real good in Silk PLA and almost better in PLA Matte :-)

Beautiful model. I had the issue with the supports sticking even after increasing Z distance, then took the time to read what the designer wrote about not using variable line heights. The version with only 1 plate and 0.2 layer heights comes out perfect on Bambu A1 and the supports popped off easily. The version with 3 plates (medium) did not work for me on either of the 2 attempts.
