Saw these Christmas lightbox decorations at our local supermarket with my daughter. After her first attempt with TinkerCAD (https://makerworld.com/en/models/58172#profileId-59905), she's confident that she could model them herself. Honestly, I think it's a bit ambitious for her. But hey! It's a good learning experience and should be encouraged, right?
So, she spent at least an hour a day after school and more hours on the weekend, even restricting herself from her Netflix time. Upon reaching 80% completion, we noticed another designer/Makerworld user took the same inspiration. She was a bit upset and wanted to quit, fearing she might be accused of plagiarism. So, I suggested that we change the design from a one-sided lightbox to a two-sided one and add more patterns, hoping that you all can support her young passion. All in all, it took her more than one week, and these are her results. All I did was point her in the right direction when she was stuck and offered some tips here and there.
Just print the main lightbox and two pattern frames or lithophanes, one for each side; put an LED tea light inside before closing the box with the lithophane/frame. There are a few to choose from, but we have also included the blank frame and blank panel for lithophane if you want to personalize your lightbox.
Please check the 8-pointed star (https://makerworld.com/en/models/70214#profileId-74525), and 5-pointed star (https://makerworld.com/en/models/70232#profileId-74556) light box as well.
